✨October Wrap up✨
Thank you to the tagged publishers for the gifted copies 🫶

October was a busy month! I read 13 books which at this point, feels like a pretty solid average monthly total.

My favorite for this month was Defy the Dusk by @danielleljensen which comes out TOMORROW! 🎉

What book would be the reason you get kidnapped 🤣 by @katereadssometimes

I love playing book fairy especially if it means finding @gretchenwritesbooks’s books in the store and hiding some fun goodies for the lucky person who buys them!

Happy release day to Shadow & Son! ✨💜🫶

Have you read The Shattered Crown series yet? by @katereadssometimes

✨Defy the Dusk by @danielleljensen✨

Twenty years after Lirien’s magic unleashed deadly monsters that hunt in the dark, humanity is barely hanging on. The most powerful survivors escaped aboard the Dawnrider rig, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves.

Lirien has spent years plotting to take down the tyrant ruling Dawnrider, but when she’s abducted by Vox, the king of the feralists, her plans take a very different turn. Now she’s fighting for survival, testing the limits of her magic, and questioning everything she thought she knew about who deserves saving. And with her loyalties shifting and Vox getting under her skin, she might have to decide what her path to redemption looks like.

Thank you thank you to @delreybooks for the advance copy and one of my top books I’ve read this year 🫶 if you’ve talked to me at all in the last two weeks, I probably bombarded you with how much I was freaking out about it. Unsurprisingly, Danielle has created a world that is unique and has so much depth. The premise for this story had me hooked but I stayed for the fast paced plot, characters I loved (and loved to hate) and the TRUE enemies to lovers dynamic.
The end blew my mind and I will not be elaborating. Danielle knows what she did.

TLDR; this book changed my brain chemistry and made me stare at the wall for 20 minutes after finishing.

Defy the Dusk releases on November 3!

QOTD: do you have an upcoming release you’re going feral for? by @katereadssometimes

Hi, I’m Kate and I like yapping about books! If you’re seeing this, it’s probably because you do too. ✨What’s your favorite book to recommend? by @katereadssometimes

I love audiobooks! They keep me sane throughout the week when it isn’t possible to sit down and eyeball read my books 😂 These are some I’ve enjoyed lately!

✨ONE MORE WEEK until The Shattered Crown Trilogy concludes and I have zero chill about it!!!✨

The Shattered Crown trilogy is an epic slow burn, enemies to lovers romantasy featuring found family, a shadow mommy, and a golden knight. Book 1 is Smoke and Scar and Book 2 is Splintered Kingdom.

Shadow and Son picks up where Splintered Kingdom ends and takes off running. This series has meant so much to me and its powerful message of overcoming fear and trauma and leaning into love and found family feels so important 💜

DAMMIT GRETCHEN! I’m not ready to say goodbye to our golden knight or our brilliant brave shadow wielder, but I love you for writing some of my favorite characters.

Finish the Shattered Crown trilogy with Shadow and Son by @gretchenwritesbooks on October 20! by @katereadssometimes
