I hope one day I no longer have to be apart of this program. Not because I don’t want to be, but because it’s no longer needed. The past 8 years of my life have been filled with all things CHOP, dance marathon, and fundraising. Every year that gets added on, is another year without a cure and another 35,000 children that get admitted into the hospital. Through this statistic alone, we are far from sitting down and done dancing. Through this cause, many of us have learned to hold ourselves to high standards and the importance to take on these responsibilities because the children we support don’t get to choose theirs. Many of them are facing challenges far greater than any of ours, and that reminder alone should motivate us to always do our best, not just for ourselves, but for them. Naz-A-Thon has taught resilience, compassion, and everything in between, whether through miracle family stories, doing grown adults paid jobs, or a million things to do everyday. Each has brought me closer to being the ultimate version of myself. To my executive team, I am the luckiest girl to have worked & become close with you all; the true sisterhood that Nazareth has taught me. For every committee member & donor, you all are awesome and amazing for every donation & volunteering time. From highest of highs, with every reveal and winning all the raffles #zachbryantickets, to every lowest of lows, I cherish it all. I am so unbelievably lucky to look back on this program in years to come, hopefully when there’s been a cure, and say “I had an impact.” We are not only fighting for kids now, but for all future kids to come and for all of those whose legacy we must carry on.
