Daniel and I have made the really hard decision to rehome his dog, Eddie.Eddie is a 4-year-old pit mix who is handsome as hell, incredibly sweet, and still full of puppy energy. He can be a little skittish at times, but once he’s comfortable, he’s a loving, goofy companion who loves to snuggle as much as he loves to run. He would do best in a home where he can be the main focus and get plenty of attention, exercise, and structure. A yard or someone who enjoys regular walks and outdoor time would be ideal — he loves being outside (especially when it’s not too cold), chasing squirrels, and chomping sticks. Inside, he’s usually content chewing on his bone or smuggling.*Weirdly suspicious of hardwood floors — he acts like he’s never seen them before. Crate and potty trained. With two teenagers, two adults, and two dogs in our 1100 sq ft house, things just aren’t working the way they should, and we truly want Eddie to have the chance at a calmer, happier life where he can thrive.If you know someone looking for a loyal, funny, loving new buddy, please keep Eddie in mind. This is my 34th year without my dad—and the first year we were the same age.Knowing he was 39, my age now, when he decided he couldn’t stay earthside with us has weighed on me in ways I didn’t expect.Today, as I remember him, I send him love and peace—and am deeply grateful for all I have to live for. by @katethegreat

2016 was the year I turned 30. It was complicated for me to look back on. There were many struggles of hustling as a single mom but here are some highlights. My best friend played SNL and brought me along.I visited Chicago for the first time. I took my kids on our first ever vacation together. I worked at the beloved Rolf & Daughters and Woodland Wine Merchant. I met and hung out with my hero Tony. I started doing some freelance wine gigs. I got a lot of good time with my boys. by @katethegreat
