We had an amazing tour at the Kentucky Derby Museum and Grounds at Churchill Downs! We did the guided track visit and the Barn and Backyard Tour. We had lunch first at Derby Cafe and Bourbon bar (170 bourbons!). The Secretariat exhibit on floor 2 and the short film in the great hall were amazing! Thank you tour guide Roxy of Churchill Downs for an amazing and fact-filled tour!

Went bourbon tasting with family at the Angel’s Envy Distillery in Louisville Kentucky. 3 to 5% of each cask evaporates and that is called the angel’s share. What a great experience and Greg was a great tour guide! #angelsenvybourbon #angelsenvydistillery #louisvillekentucky by @katevangent

Occam’s Razor band at the Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Valley Games in Enumclaw, WA was fantastic. Nessi made an appearance. If you ever get a chance to see them in a small crowd format, they come out into the audience and perform amongst the crowd. So much fun! The Grand Opening of The Picklr Federal Way is on Saturday, May 30 from 12 to 5 pm. Everyone is invited to play and participate on 14 indoor pickleball courts.

Register for free open play from 12-5 pm and junior clinics from 1-2 pm. Fun activities include exhibition matches with the pros from 2-3 pm, beat the pro from 3-4 pm, and a raffle at 4:30 pm.

SMPA has been in ongoing talks with Seattle Parks and Recreation regarding the Outdoor Racquet Sports Strategy since its April 6 release.

SMPA submitted its "Racquet Sports Strategy Recommendations" to SPR today. We are asking for equitable access to public courts, SPR's decision-making data, and for SPR to keep up with the growth of Washington's state sport.

Attend a public hearing on the Outdoor Racquet Sports Strategy:

Thursday, May 7 from 7-9 pm at the Garfield Community Center - 2323 E Cherry St, Seattle.

Saturday, May 9 from 10:30 am-12:30 pm at the Van Asselt Community Center at 2820 S Myrtle St, Seattle.

36 pickleball courts are slated for purge at Rainier Beach, Brighton, Magnolia, Gilman, Alki, Walt Hundley/High Point, and Soundview.

All attendees will get a chance to speak after a 20-minute presentation by SPR.
