Last week, the first cohort of the Mastercard Foundation Fellows program gathered for our opening retreat in Saskatoon,Sk on Treaty 6 Territory to begin our journey together.

Throughout the next two years, each fellow will receive $50,000 toward their leadership development plan, access to mentorship, and cultural support.

I’m still overwhelmed with gratitude for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Being able to learn alongside such passionate and inspiring individuals while remaining connected through culture and ceremony has been healing in many ways.

It has been especially meaningful to connect with people who have been a part of my journey during the week. What a beautiful feeling it is to exist as part of a community.

This experience has reminded me that leadership is not something we do alone. It’s something we nurture and grow together, through our relationships, and the responsibilities we have to one another.

I cannot imagine doing this with a better group of people.

I am so excited to share that I have been selected as a 2026 Mastercard Foundation Fellow.
The @mastercardfoundation , in partnership with @siitlive and @gdins_org, has launched the Mastercard Foundation Fellows Program—an initiative that will support the leadership journeys of more than 1,000 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis youth over the next decade through long-term, culturally grounded support.
Through the Fellowship, Indigenous young people will have the opportunity to chart their own leadership paths, strengthen Indigenous representation in decision-making spaces, and help shape the future of their Nations, communities, and Canada.
This opportunity comes at an especially meaningful time for me.
Over the past three years, I have dedicated much of my time to creating positive change in my community through volunteer leadership while pursuing my undergraduate degree at the First Nations University of Canada. For me, it was never enough to simply be aware of the challenges facing Indigenous peoples—I wanted to be part of creating solutions and building something better.
Throughout that journey, I have become increasingly grounded in the belief that our shared path forward will be shaped by the wisdom that already exists within our communities—within our songs, languages, ceremonies, relationships, and ways of knowing.
Indigenous resurgence requires leadership that is culturally guided, grounded, relational, and rooted in responsibility to the generations who came before us and those who will come after us.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue learning, growing, and strengthening my capacity as a leader alongside other Indigenous youth from across the country.

We celebrated 50 years of Indigenous-led post-secondary education last night as the First Nations University commemorated an important milestone. It was an honour to be a part of this important moment in our history. I’m grateful for the support that FNUniv has consistently offered me as an institution and community as I’ve continued to grow as an individual, academic, and leader.

I’m excited to share that I will be offering Life Balance sessions at @grassrootsintegration

July 10th and 11th. Appointments will be available by donation as I finish the end of my certification.

Bridging my experience as a 4th year Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work student with a trauma-informed approach, I utilize the Life Balance System to offer an energetic and initiative read of the body to offer practical insights for change.
