AHH very fond memories of writing this book, very fond indeed. During lockdown I immersed myself in metal, music history, goth, thrash, grunge and pure escapism and this was the finished product- Haven 🖤

The hair that tells a story......
Once upon a time in the not so distant past a man of 37 had a cough and a persistent night sweat issue.....one chest x-ray later it was found to be a shadow....then one shadow became two shadows......one PET SCAN later and the two shadows turned out to be two cancerous lymph nodes within his chest either side of his windpipe, the cough was the slow suffocation taking place silently growing and gaining strength.
The treatment was planned, the groshong line was cast, down it went into the vein and all the way down into his heart. There it lay ready and waiting for the ABVD chemotherapy to travel down to the heart I had captured years prior.
My fear stayed silent, my hand stayed strong and my mind had to stay clear.
To my warrior- I cut your hair the night before your first treatment, treatment to help you breathe and treatment to help you live, I kept this hair out of the sheer fear that a twist of fate out of all of our control would spirit you away and all I'd have left was this hair. The hair that smelled of you and only you.
Fate was kind, medical science was advanced and you were the WARRIOR of our tale🗡️You won x.
You- the warrior- fought with open eyes, a positive mind, a strong beating heart and patience that I've never seen since from another human being.
This hair still smells of that shampoo as it lays locked away in my jewellery box, a scent of the past and a part frozen in time, a twist of fate that never came to pass, a fear of a fate that mercifully never played out.
So each time I shave your hair now and we laugh at the grey and white hairs that have crept in over time, I love them all because your hair was given the gift of time.
Time is the one finite resource that we all have, use it wisely future warriors use it wisely xx by @katherinegibson4060

It's after midnight here in England so that means today is September 28th and 6 years ago today I got married to G.
