Some of my favorite artists are ones I actually know. Living, breathing artists whose practices I’ve had the honor to get to know intimately through studio visits, rigorous and supportive discussions, gatherings and friendship. I’m so grateful to be included in the latest Praxis exhibition, Holding Multitudes at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts.

Huge thanks to @loisbielefeld for organizing and photographing the whole project, @tlh.gill.studio and @ritagrendze for curating and installing the exhibition, and to @marzena.anna.ziejka for beautiful catalog design.

Thrilled to be artist of the month @brushwoodcenter at Ryerson Woods. I went to install today and it smelled like a campfire from the small controlled burns in the woods surrounding the art and nature center. It was the perfect day to walk the trails and enjoy this special place tucked away within a peaceful forest preserve. Thank you @juliakemererart for helping me install! by @katherinelampert

Untitled new work.

Cast recycled crayons

Working on figuring out a backing for this new series as they are a bit fragile and currently not on any substrate.

Playing with pairings. I really wanted to add “Together Again” from the Muppets Take Manhattan as the audio soundtrack to this post for some silly reason but I can’t find it! Is it possible that this 1984 classic soundtrack has slipped into obscurity? taken in Hyde Park Art Center by @katherinelampert

Excited to share a few pieces from a new series of small works made from melted down recycled crayons. Many of the crayons are collected from restaurants that would otherwise throw away the crayons they give away with kid’s menus.
