Rebuilding my vinyl collection after some years of CD & streaming.Many of my vinyls still with me throughout the years and I’ve also bought new ones every now and then. Sweet - ‘Fanny Adams’, 1974. My very first vinyl that I bought with my pocket money when I was about 10 years old for 10 Danish crowns. It was on a trip to the library with my dad and it was a discarded record because the cover was torn. Didn’t know them until I saw a post here in our vinylcommunity. I was immediately hooked… amazing music ! Just blew me away 😍Wasn’t easy to find vinyl but got their debut on vinyl and this absolutely brilliant album on cd.For sure they have their own unique sound but you can hear the influences like Pink Floyd, Marillion and some of the songs totally give me a Porcupine Tree vibe. And nice long songs…7, 8 and almost 17 minutes with a few shorter ones too. Love those long songs.Have this melancholic, ethereal and cinematic soundscapes with shifts between very delicate passages and heavy tones. Great lyrics too.___________🎶 Airbag - “The Greatest Show On Earth” , 2013.The 3rd studio album.💡 Norwegian prog rock band, formed in the mid-2000s by five high school classmates.Members Asle Tostrup (Vocals, guitar)Henrik Bergan Fossum (Drums)Bjørn Riis (Guitar, bass)The former members Anders Hovdan (bass) and Jørgen Hagen (keyboards) left.Released their first EP, “Come on In,” in 2004 and their debut album “Identity” in 2009.🎸 Genres - draws elements from classic and progressive rock, chill and jazz, Some of their influences include a wide range of music - from Pink Floyd to Radiohead.📝 Initially they offered a string of self produced EPs for free on their website which built up a fan base and got the labels to notice them, and they finally made a record deal with the prog label Karisma Records in 2008.❤️❤️❤️@airbagsound #airbagnorway #vinylcommunity #cd #cdcollection #progrock by @kathew.vinyl

Brilliant band !! ❤️🎶 Ten Years After - ‘A Space In Time’ , 1971.The 6th studio album. Recieved generally positive reviews. No. 36 on UK Albums Chart. No. 9 on UK Independent Albums. No. 17 on the Billboard 200.It was a change in style from their previous albums, less ‘heavy’ and includes more acoustic guitar.Includes their biggest hit, “I’d Love to Change the World”.💡 English band formed in Nottingham in 1966 byAlvin Lee – guitar, vocalsLeo Lyons – bassRic Lee – drumsChick Churchill – keyboards🎸 Genres - Blues rock📝 Brilliant music with eight consecutive albums in the Top 40 on the UK Albums Chart between 1968 and 1973. They also had twelve albums enter the US Billboard 200. They initially had some different names, like “Ivan Jay and the Jaycats”. Later in 1962, they changed their name to the “Jaybirds”. It wasn’t until 1996 they changed their name to Ten Years After.They became world-famous, in particular, following their performance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969.They are said to be a much better live band than their studio albums suggest. Totally love this band !🎶 Stuff - ‘Stuff It !’ ,1979. (original)The 4th studio album.💡 American jazz fusion band during the late 1970s and early 1980s, based in New York.The core of the band were:Gordon Edwards (bass guitar)Richard Tee (keyboards)Eric Gale (guitar)Cornell Dupree (guitar)Chris Parker (drums), and later Steve Gadd (drums).🎸 Genres - Jazz fusion, jazz, smooth jazz, crossover jazz📝 Edwards describes how the band was founded:“I was contracting and playing studio sessions, and hired Cornell for many of the dates – so we started recruiting for the band. One day at Rudy Van Gelder’s – I remember it was a hell of a job; it was for Queen Esther Marrow, great singer. George Benson was on the job, Bernard Purdie, and Richard Tee on keyboards. Esther asked me if she could use the band for a club date she had lined up – a club called Mikell’s in New York City. We did play there, and Richard Tee stopped by one time and he started coming every night. We only worked Monday through Thursday, and Mikell’s was packed, wall to wall, round the block.” ….”…Steve Gadd came by one night to sit in with us, as did Eric Gale, and they both became a part of the band…..”Mikell’s, a New York jazz club. Known to be the place session musicians would meet for jam sessions and many members of Stuff were the most important session musicians of the time, also featuring Herbie Mann, Aretha Franklin, and Paul Simon playing alongside them, among others.Initially the name was “The Encyclopaedia of Soul”, but it was too long and since Edwards was calling everyone for stuff…. Love the inspiration we can give each other in our vinylcommunity …didn’t know them until I saw a post from a fellow collector….and I was hooked from the start. So very happy when I got this album and their EP home ✨🥰Even though they’re still a young bunch, they already have a mature soundscape. Love it !🎶 Will Butler - ‘Generations’ , limited edition, red splatter vinyl, 2020.The 2nd studio album.He’s self-recording producing the album in the basement of his own home in Brooklyn. Released on Merge Records.💡 American multi-instrumentalist and composer. He is best known as a former member of the indie rock band Arcade Fire.In 2015, Butler released his debut solo album.Instruments: Keyboards, synthesizers, bass, guitar, percussion and vocals🎸 Genres - Indie rock, pop rock, alternative rock 📝 He was also a student at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and got a Master’s degree in Public Administration also hosting a series of town halls covering topics as prison reform and voting rights and many more.In connection with the release of this album he said: “My first album, *Policy*, was a collection of short stories….’Generations’ is more like a novel – it’s despairing, funny, a bit epic… A large part of this album asks: What is my place in American history? What is my place in America’s present? It’s a beautiful record, both in appearance, with autographs and in the music and lyrics ! Been on repeat… so honest, emotionally raw somehow but also sensitive. Praising the small, everyday moments and hope, loss, but it’s also about mental health due to frontman Danny McNamara’s recent OCD diagnosis.🎶 Embrace - ‘Avalanche’ , 30th Anniversary, Red White Swirl vinyl, 2026.I got the set with: A cassette, a CD, a vinyl, first 1000 people got their name on a signed insert… I didn’t get my name on but it’s awesome anyway…and also a signed print 😍🤩The 9th studio album, celebrating their 30 years together.💡 Embrace - alternative rock band, formed in Bailiff Bridge, West Yorkshire in 1990, UK.Consists of brothers singer Danny McNamara and guitarist Richard McNamara, bassist Steve Firth, keyboardist Mickey Dale, and drummer Mike Heaton.🎸 Genres - Alternative rock, post-Britpop, indie rock, Britpop📝 They began in a small outbuilding at the bottom of a garden, where the brothers McNamara started writing songs with the aid of a cassette recorder and a drum machine. They struggled to find a name so gigs were initially performed from 1992 onwards under one-off names; Curious Orange, Christianne F, Shimmer, Lady Bum, and Mesmerise. Eventually they settled on ‘Embrace’. Enjoying my holiday in Sweden.Of course looking for vinyl, cd, cassettes. And every single second-hand shop we’ve been to had some vinyl, CDs and, in a couple of places, cassettes… but it’s all old Swedish music, or a lot from the 80s which isn’t really my thing. Copenhagen Jazz Festival … yesterday 🎶The band “Eloise Park Project” and my youngest son on drums.Very different and beautiful. Haven’t heard this band before and loved it !!! Love these sounds blending together. Just having a great time also with my daughter-in-law. This is his second gig tonight. Also got to see two other bands. Just having a great time also with my daughter-in-law and her mom. After this we went to another place to watch the next gig my son was playing. Also got to see two other bands.
