Happy birthday Sophie Bug ❤️ this girl is pure love and light. If you know her you have a best friend. She gives the best hugs. Has the best laugh. Lives life to the absolute fullest. Every time she comes home from somewhere she says “I made a new friend today”

Proud mom day. Today Tayson and 150 other kids received their White Coat as the class of 2029 students at Rosemand Dental School. The emotions I felt when they said his name and they put the coat on him 😭🥹😭🥹 I am so proud of how hard he has worked and everything he has done to get to this point. Global Running Day.

I love running and have been running since the 80’s. Running has me so many life lessons. Here are a few of them.

Learn to rest not stop

Have a plan and follow it. Consistency over motivation.

Build the foundation daily. Every mile, every interval, every race.

Find inspiration in others and always cheer on other runners - there is room for every type of runner. by @kathy_schultzjohnson

Happy 85th birthday to my daddy. He is just the best guy ever. I am SO BLESSED that he is my dad and my kids grandpa. ❤️❤️❤️ this guy knows family is everything and hard work and discipline are how you can accomplish anything. I sure hope I’m as healthy as he is when I’m 85.

2009 First Marathon: I followed Hal Higdon’s marathon for beginners and it was perfect

2012 - 2013: I ran 4 marathons in 18 months and followed a program from Runners World where I could put in my current pace and my goal finish time to get specific tempo paces and workouts. It was a great option and got my qualified for Boston twice. I actually finished almost exactly the time I trained for.

2022 - 2025: I didn’t think I would ever run another marathon after my back surgery so when Berlin came up as an option in 2022 I just wanted to run for enjoyment and not stress about pace or finish times. I loved the Peloton program - it brought in strength training and warm ups and stretching and I had so much fun training and completing marathons again.

2026: I decided I wanted to feel better during the race and I had a friend who was using a coach so I reached out and starting with Next Best Run ( @next_best_run )a year ago right after the London Marathon. In my first discussion with my coach Drew I told him that I’m not a serious runner and my goal was just to feel great on race day. After a few weeks when we added in speed work he said “wow I didn’t know you had that speed in you” and you know what - I also didn’t know I had that speed in me. This training has been AMAZING and I have absolutely loved the personalized workouts. I am being pushed hard and loving how I feel when I run. One of the best parts about personalized athlete-centered coaching is that with my busy schedule and traveling so much he adjusts my training to my life. I also love that when I have a bad run I can talk to him about how I was feeling and what is going on and he helps me not beat myself up over a bad run - is it the temp, poor fueling, traveling, etc.

I have been on 5 continents in the last 5 months - North America, Asia, South America, Europe and Africa. I love visiting amazing places but there is just no where I’d rather be than at home. Running on my favorite trail - eating in my own kitchen - and being with my family. I love where I live. Luckily I’m home for a while now!!! by @kathy_schultzjohnson

Congrats Sophie!! This girl missed more school than the other 3 combined. Knew the attendance office and could check herself out with her smile. She was voted most outgoing senior and took more dance classes than math classes. She took classes online and over the summer to make sure she had room in her schedule for 4 dance classes every year. She graduated with honors and with her certificate of bi-literacy and 2 varsity letters. Way to go Bug. I am so dang proud of you. Go Bulldogs. 💚 by @kathy_schultzjohnson

Today they had a special graduation from the Portuguese Immersion program. These kids have been together since first grade. This program has been amazing for Sophie and I am so grateful for everything it has taught her. So much more than just being bi-lingual. She had a group of friends that has been built in the entire time. Her teachers have shown her what it means to dream big and then fight hard for that dream. We are so grateful for everything this program has done. And so proud of Sophie for pushing the hard years!! by @kathy_schultzjohnson
