I’m so sad to hear that Seafood Cove #1 has closed down after 35 years. Growing up, this was THE spot for family birthdays, celebrations, weddings or any other major family event. I’ve ended up here with my family so many times during the holidays when all the American restaurants were closed. 9/1/2009 - 3/2/2026 💔

Chibi had been battling a lot of health problems over the last year, especially as he’s gotten older. On Monday, after a huge meal lovingly cooked by his dad, he went to doggie heaven to reunite with his older brother Chewie. Now Chibi can see, hear, run and be free from seizures.

I hope you are doing well, my silly old pup. He loved car rides, cheese, walks, neck scratches, tennis balls, his donut bed, and just being with his family. He would always look back to make sure we were following him closely on walks and hikes and was content to sit in the car for hours while I drove around playing Pokemon Go. He loved our music and whiskey nights, where he got to listen to his dad spin vinyl and get midnight snacks from mom. He was super smart and knew a ton of tricks but never did any of them unless you had delicious food to give him. We couldn’t tell if he was getting deaf in his older years or if he was just ignoring us lol.

Thank you for giving me 16.5 years as your furmom. I’ll be sure to honor you and carry those lessons over when our human baby is born.

Here are some of the things my Asian-American family ate while camping last weekend. Camping with Asians = soooo much good food!

🐷 Korean grilled pork belly and kimchi in lettuce wraps
🍳 we used the leftover oil & added rice, spam, egg to make fried rice!
🍚 congee bar was perfect for an easy, quick breakfast
🥐 egg, ham, and cheese croissants with these cute mini ketchup jars
🥧 frito pie with homemade chili
🥩🥒 korean bibimbap (spicy sauce on side since the kids can’t eat spicy)

Happy 16th birthday to my forever puppy 🐶🐾 Chibi went to the dog beach today! He enjoyed walks on the sand (but not the water 🌊) until he got too tired, then @the_dai_hoanger had to carry him 😂 We also brought his stroller along so he loved seeing the sights from up high ☀️ After a nice long nap, he got an in-n-out pup patty with some kibble for dinner! Now he’s back to sleep again💤 It was an exciting day for this old pup 🩵 taken in Huntington Dog Beach by @kathyphi

Steak frites 🥩 🍟 with a cognac cream sauce and braised bone in short ribs were great here! I would also recommend the brussels sprouts, which were crispy and came with thick pieces of pancetta 🥓
We had dinner on the first floor, then went upstairs to enjoy a few more drinks 🍺🍸 and the fresh air on the rooftop by @kathyphi

My wallet hates that these breakfast burritos are so good. They are not big at all (twss 😂) But they were delicious, filled me up, and you can taste the high quality ingredients. Texture was perfect and each ingredient was seasoned perfectly. Both sauces were good as well, and I liked how they packaged the sauces and burrito together so it was easy to distribute to each person.

Langer’s is an institution in LA, and known for having the best pastrami sandwich on the west coast. We came here for lunch on Saturday and it was super homey, full of happy Dodgers fans. ⚾️

There’s only one thing that you need to get here - the #19 sandwich! Delicious, thick, hand cut pastami with coleslaw sandwiched between 2 slices of super soft, rye bread. I also enjoyed their homemade cream soda which comes with free refills and is not too sweet. taken in Langer's Delicatessen-Restaurant by @kathyphi

A ktown classic for Korean comfort food. This place has been a fave ever since I saw the late Jonathan Gold review it.
Though I’m not a big fish person, the braised black cod is a MUST and quickly became the star 🌟 of the meal for many friends that I’ve brought here over the years. We also got their raw marinated crab and their galbijjim, which were also high quality and delicious. I also loved all the banchan you get - you get 12 dishes and everything was so fresh & authentic! taken in Soban Los Angeles by @kathyphi

Sometimes all you need is a good bowl of beef noodle soup. This was so comforting and the meat was so tender! 🥩 and surprisingly, service was great here ⭐️ taken in Mr Dragon Noodle house by @kathyphi
