Dear Mulan 花木蘭,

Words can not express how much you truly mean to me. You have continuously been a part of so many wonderful memories in my life while also giving me strength in many dark times & difficult challenges. You are a reminder that not everything comes so easily. Sometimes you have to take risks and do things outside your comfort zone to ultimately reach where you’re meant to be and find what you are destined for.

Back in the early 2000s, I had the honor of meeting you in the Epcot China pavilion for the first time! You were in your matchmaker attire looking absolutely beautiful; I remember being so nervous, having my sister hype me up in line, preparing to ask you about Cri-Kee. I probably even prayed to the ancestors for luck 🙏 I associated Cri-Kee with luck so I hoped that if we talked about him, then luck would be on my side. Not to mention, my baby Kathy brain was genuinely curious about what he and Mushu were up to anyway. I remember the moment you pulled out Cri-Kee in his little cage and showed that he was with you the WHOLE TIME!! That was a moment I was too stunned to speak. To this day, that is still my absolute favorite Disney character interaction 🌸🦗

Now, I’m sitting here reflecting before I snack… ACT! at 21 years old; Never would I have thought that deciding to simply explore a new side of the hospitality industry would lead me to be even more connected to you. You continue to inspire me everyday with all the magical moments we can make together! Though, I will always remember that a lucky cricket helps, all I need is to be loyal brave and true to my heart 🫶🏼✨

The animated Mulan is truly a comfort movie for me. I have watched it with friends & family, in a hospital, at gatherings, just on my days off through Disney + , and so much more!

With that said, happy 25th anniversary to the premiere of Disney’s Animated Mulan (1998)

Kathy 💕 Back in 2011, Kathy is 10 years old on the right side of this portrait/picture. She is smiling and wearing a purple ditsy sun dress while mulan is showing her cri-kee in her matchmaker gown. The comb is a jade like color with a white and a little pinkish cherry blossom + magnolia flower 🌸 in it as well! Her dress is a mix of dark pink, light pink, navy blue, and red. celebrating 3 years of magic!! January 6, 2022 was the day I had my Traditions, also known as the orientation welcoming me to the Walt Disney Company as a Resort Concierge Cast Member. Since then, I’ve transferred to Entertainment, continuing to make magic with character friends in shows & parades bringing everyone’s favorite Disney stories to life. When I was little, my family enjoyed following the last float in the parade and waving to the crowd as if we were part of it. One of my dreams was always just getting to walk in the parade and simply smile as myself. There are so many memories made everyday for not only the guests but for the working cast as well and I think these Grand Marshall pictures truly capture a dream coming true! lil Kathy would be screaming! GKTW does fun events like this for its volunteers and is always looking for more helpers! singin’ girls just wanna have fun! 🧢 Kathy and Lauren in their cowgirl outfits from the Russell Dickerson concert at Addition Financial Arena. survived food poisoning just in time for the @russelldickerson RD Party aka Russell Mania 2026 Round 1 Tour but round 3 for me, & round 2 for me & @thereallaurentoma together!! hearing “worth your wild” as an opener after hearing it before it came out back in NYC, sobbing to “bones” as well as “happen to me” live with a 🎶girls just wanna have fun🎶 intro had me on cloud 9!! Condensing the videos of THIS concert to under 3 minutes was most definitely a challenge but nonetheless these are just some highlights of my fav moments!! Not to mention how nostalgic it was to be back on @ucf.edu ‘s campus with my day 1 BOAT college bestie; special thanks to @vipnation #RussellDickersonVIP for an amazing experience! 🥹

got hit with some beads but overall, first time at Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras = success!! performers & the floats in the parade were all so beautiful and full of energy!! truly letting the good times roll!! 🎊

we may not have grown up together, but somehow that UCF intro to hospitality class knew exactly what it was doing when it brought us together. From being travel buddies (lol sleeping inches from each other in Europe) ✈️), and being the girl who’s always down for a wine or sangria night, every moment with you is an adventure!! of course, we can’t forget how we are og @russelldickerson fans and the day we found out we both loved his music! There’s truly no one I’d rather scream “girls just wanna have fun” at the top of my lungs with than you especially at 5 am in a Disney parking lot! You are one of the most inspiring, genuine, and beautiful souls I know, and I’m so beyond thankful for our friendship!
