Room to Grow out on all listening platforms today! Links to listen in bio 🌺🌺🌺 Last Spring my whole life transformed in what felt like an instant - I secured a new job, I became single for the first time in 9 years, and decided at the age of 47 to move across the country and start a new life by myself in Rochester, NY. These changes were seismic and necessary, and I did my best to cope with the upheaval by writing 18 songs to process the trauma and excitement of the shift. The song Room to Grow was one of the first and came quickly like a fully formed egg. I was on a writing retreat at my dear friend @chasing_aim home in Bisbee, AZ last May, a month before I moved away from Arizona. The @dead_writers_den was a place that had supported the birth of a number of musical compositions that have so helped to heal me, and this one was no exception. I wrote it in the morning on my last day there, raspy voiced from the night's previous activities, and guzzling coffee to keep my energy up as the creative ideas were flooding out of me. I remember recording a simple video of it in her kitchen right before I left, wanting to capture the moment and sentiment. I have thought a lot to myself in the last year and half, wow, isn't it amazing that life can still surprise you and there is still so much room to grow? That it is never too late to be a truer, more authentic version of yourself? That sometimes, those absolutely brutal but pivotal decisions are the lynch pin towards evolution? I birth and give this song to anyone that may be feeling like you are on the precipice of a tough decision. One that perhaps your heart knows the answer to, but is afraid to honor due to the pain you know it will cause. I hope this song can give you strength to take the next right step in the direction that is right for your body, your soul, and your purpose in this lifetime. Sending all of my love to all of you πŸ’› xo Katie Ps video coming soon Room to Grow was recorded at @tonesstudios in Rochester, NY 🍁 Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by @andywendt94 πŸ™πŸ’• Strings - by @abbygundersen πŸ’βœ¨ #singersongwriter #newsong #newmusicalert #releaseday #indiefolk #roomtogrow #divinetiming by @katie.haverly
Good evening I welcome you to a long form experience I needed this song today Did you need it too? Sending all of my love to all of you βœ¨πŸ’œβœ¨ Better When the doors have all been closed and the latch on the window is broke and the double-paned glass cant keep out the past when the doors have all been closed when my mind cant seem to rest when my better is not my best when the world feels dense like its closing in when my better's not my best I think of you... I think of you... I think of you.. No one said it was gonna be easy You fall to the floor then rise to the ceiling No one said it was gonna be easy When my map cant pick a road When my back cant take the load When my eyes cant see 'cause their too damn cloudy when my map cant pick a road I think of you... I think of you... I think of you.... #longform #musicismedicine #singersongwriter #liveperform #rochestermusic by @katie.haverly

Recently I spent a week by myself in Martha's Vineyard to write, reflect, integrate, process and I'm realizing now, casting spells for love ❀️‍πŸ”₯ This tune called The Lucky One came out of that week, and I give it to any of you who are right now calling in that love for yourself. That deep, true, safe and healthy love you have been waiting for. Say it out loud, sing it out loud, setting our intentions verbally is so powerful ✨ I am so deeply grateful for music for always giving me the clarity and support I need to understand where I am headed and who I am becoming. So much love to all of you today ✨❀️🌹 The Lucky One I can see for miles At the end of a dirt road In a cottage teeming with songs Where I get closer To finding the words But I have been here before I've seen these rooms I've walked these floors Where I get closer To finding what hurts Cause I can be the pretty one But I can write a great song And I can sure get it all done So you can be the lucky one The lucky one But I go father when you see me Cause I know I'm not yet all I could be I go farther when you see me And I don't know your name But I see your shape Coming into frame As we get closer To finding eachother Know that you can be the pretty one And I can write a great song And you can sure get it all done So I can be the lucky one The lucky one #singersongwriter #ɴᴇᴑsᴏɴɒ #lovespell #sayitoutloud #soulmate by @katie.haverly
