Feeling the outrage at how things are, while embodying what I want them to be. Transmuting my anger into art and using helplessness as a driving force to be the best parent I can. Refusing to let anger corrupt me like the greed has corrupted those I am angry about.
I rest frequently to ensure that my hope spark burns bright in spite of the darkness.

Do we consume so much news and fear that it prevents us from doing our own life things? To the point where our heart is continuously breaking for the world and we feel powerless to help. No we don’t do that. But the other extreme looks like ‘protecting our peace’ where we don’t stay informed at all and pretend it’s not happening. I get that healing the world starts with healing ourselves but I can’t just shut it out completely and stay numb to it all. I WANT to feel angry and have opinions that evolve with more information and I want to think critically about things.
For me the answer lies in between these two extremes.
Where we embody the magic and the whimsy and the lightheartedness we want to see in the world. We live that. That is our reality. And we gently try and spread that to those around us, creating a ripple effect. So it’s almost like the more outrage we feel, the more whimsical we become 🧚
So here is our checklist! 🖋️

Hi! 👋 Consider this my reintroduction, as we are all forever evolving!🐛

I am Katie, a human who makes a living from my creativity! 😍 I draw sassy cats, judgmental llamas and motivational mushrooms 💪 ✍🏻 I am mum to feral force of nature; Violet and also furchild Frank 🐈‍⬛ and shellchild Ted 🐢

I create new art most days, often inspired by the state of the world 🫠💔 or by things in my life journey. Your favourites get made in to *things* that exist in the world like prints, mugs, stationery, socks and other magic 🪄

The *things* are then online in my store as well as lots of beautiful indie shops across the UK and the world 🌍 Sometimes big brands like the things and sell them too. I have a range of cards on @moonpig 🐷 I have puzzles with @gibsons_puzzles sold in shops like John Lewis and Hobbycraft 🧩 I work with awesome brands like @runandflyengland @rebel.romance and @socktopusofficial to make incredible and weird things for you to wear🐙 I get to work with my vibrant haired mermaid of a husband @gendadfluid and no two days are ever the same 🧜‍♀️

I illustrate books. I’ve been on this journey for over a decade now and have illustrated over 70 titles and counting 📚 I’ve worked on children’s fiction as well as some mental health books including illustrating Propa Happy by @antanddec ☀️

I’m a shopkeeper! 🤓 @punnydukes is our immensely magical shop in Matlock, Derbyshire 🧙🏻‍♀️ Stepping through the door feels like escape from the real world in to a fantasy book world ✨ Complete with a tardis and a Zoltar machine and a smut section 😏 Witnessing the joy that Punnydukes bestows on people fills my MOSSY HEART 💚

I also hold space with my creative soulmate @deerheart_woman frequently with the events we put on as @happinessenchanters 🥰 No-BS spirituality that is accessible for everyone is our jam 🦄 We create oracle cards and delve in to astrology and cacao and creative therapy. LOVE IT ❤️‍🔥

I’m writing currently too!📝 I may not know what I am doing but, hey, I have been winging life this far 👀

Are you a creative, holistic therapist or teacher looking for a beautiful enchanting space in Matlock? 🩷⭐️
We might have just the room for you!
Our space can comfortably hold a small group of 12 sat on the floor. 12 on chairs around 2 6 foot tables. We have tables, chairs, floor mats and blankets.
It’s not suitable for yoga classes for more than 4 due to the supporting pillar in the room.
It would also be excellent for private tutors , therapists/ counsellors and holistic therapists. You would need to bring your own treatment couch. A reclining chair could be provided on request.
There is a kitchen suitable for making drinks (not preparing food) with our own special happiness enchanters mugs and mini mugs.
We have welcomed artists into our space to do workshops and crafts. We can give discounts for people that book regular sessions.
The room of enchantment is in the heart of Matlock with the train station car park just a couple of minutes walk away. (Next to punnydukes)
ALSO did you know you can hire us to create your perfect party! We personalise special events including baby showers, hen parties, birthdays and work Xmas do’s.

Sometimes we might realise that we are limiting our self expression to what those around us are comfortable with. The Nudibranch says you aren’t here to dilute yourself down like orange squash! You’re supposed to be the fullest version of YOU possible 💖🧚‍♀️💫

I’m coming to Meadowhall! 💃🌞🌈 On Sat 22nd August I will be drawing portraits all day at the @prideofyorkshiretrail unit 🦁 All portrait money raised will go to @sheffchildrenshospitalcharity ✨ So come and be drawn and raise money for a brilliant charity!
