I did it 🏆 🏃🏻‍♀️ Hackney Half Marathon complete with a new PB of 2:02! 🏁

I wasn’t sure I’d make it to the start line, let alone the finish. I questioned whether I should even take part.

Injury and illness had kept me from training properly and I hadn’t run more than 9k since 2022. Every part of me doubted whether I should take part at all.

But, I knew I was fit enough. More importantly, I knew I had the mindset. I wanted to prove something to myself.
And I did.

It wasn’t easy. By mile 11, everything hurt. Mile 12 tested me mentally in ways I hadn’t expected. But I could see the time on my watch, I was on track to beat my last half marathon, maybe even get close to two hours. That kept me going.

I stayed consistent, I pushed through when the pain kicked in at 15k, and I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. I was running for those I’ve lost, for those who supported me, for Marie Curie UK, and for the version of me that needed to know she could do hard things.

Crossing that finish line brought a wave of emotions I can’t quite put into words. Relief. Pride. Gratitude. And a quiet kind of joy that comes from proving yourself wrong.

I’m so proud of what I achieved. And honestly, in awe of how far determination (and the strength in my little legs) can take you.
If you ever doubt yourself: don’t. You’re more capable than you know. 💫

I’m running the Hackney Half marathon in less than 2 weeks ahh. I said I’d never do it again, but I am. Not for me though, I’m running for the ones I’ve lost, this time to raise money for @mariecurieuk

For my Nan and my Grandad - I never got to really know you, as cancer took you away when I was very young. For my Uncle Martin and my dad’s friend Rich, who lost their battles with cancer too young.
