⚽ We had a ball with professional soccer player Katie Atkinson and her teammates last week!   The Chicago Stars FC goalkeeper spent an afternoon coloring, hosting bingo in the Panda Center and making new friends throughout the hospital. Thank you, Katie, for kicking kindness into high gear and making the day a little bit brighter for our patients! 🌟   Katie has been nominated for the 2026 Lauren Holiday Impact Award, which recognizes a National Women's Soccer League player for outstanding service and character. Fans are invited to show support for their favorite nominee through the Fan Impact Challenge. The competition will be hosted on nwslsoccer.com from August 14-29. The nominee with the most fan engagement will be announced as winner of the Fan Impact Challenge and the charitable organization of that player’s choice will receive an additional $10,000 donation from Nationwide. Wedding at @florafarms, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Congratulations Katie & Ryan — what a way to start the New Year. Hello, 2026! This wedding was fun from the very start. Katie said, “I want bright flowers and a blue and white dance floor,” and WOW—she got it. Elizabeth from @thefloorisyours absolutely killed it with the hand-painted dance floor, bar, welcome sign, and just-married sign. The flowers were beyond perfect, thank you to @alecandtweddings floral team 🌸 Beyond being stunning, this wedding was pure nonstop energy. Huge thank you to @kilometro — the dance floor was never empty. Thank you Erika on the Farm And thank you Alec and your photo /video team @photobyalecandt for this video. Reliving the night completely made my day . Feels like a huge part of me grew up here. Five years ago, I never thought I’d live in Louisville, KY, but I have so much to be grateful for. I achieved my childhood dream of becoming a professional soccer player, making my debut on a night I’ll never forget. I met my soon to be husband, best friends for life, and made memories that will last a lifetime. To my many teammates over the years — you were easily the best part. All the laughs, tears, and chaos in between… we still had some of the best times. Wouldn’t trade it for anything, and I’m so thankful for the time we shared together. To all the amazing families and staff at @nortonchildrens — thank you for letting me be part of your amazing program. I’m so proud of the work we’ve done and the memories we’ve shared. Lastly, to all the fans who have supported me — thank you for your energy and love over the years. You’ve made every moment even more special. Louisville, thanks for being one of the best chapters 💜 Beyond excited for my next chapter... coming soon 🤫⚽️ by @katielund
