I think it’s the perfect time to get to know each other a little better.
In this video, I share a bit about myself.
If there’s anything you’re curious about, let me know… I’ll try to make a video about it.

And here is the last piece from this little series, the third part of my Ping-Pong Stamps triptych
This one is 70 × 63 cm.
It was a wonderful personal commission that I made over the summer, and honestly, I enjoyed working on it so much.
Even when life gets busy and there is a lot of work in the studio, I’m still trying to experiment, explore new ideas and keep developing my projects….
Sometimes a small new idea can open a completely different door. by @katikaart

Hello my dear ones )))
Here is another piece from my series of crochet postage stamps dedicated to ping-pong 🏓
They are completely made up, of course )))
This central piece is 70 × 70 cm.
A few years ago, I made crochet postage stamps for an exhibition in Japan too, but those were based on real stamps and actually existed.
This time I wanted to make my own stamps from scratch.
I really love this idea of making something that looks like it could exist, but never actually did ❤️ by @katikaart

Hello my dear ones )))
It’s been a while since I posted anything here.
A some has changed in my life recently, and honestly, I haven’t really felt like sharing new work on social media.
I’ve mostly wanted to stay in the studio and just keep making things.
This is one of the works I made on commission recently.
It’s about imaginary stamps and the strange visual world around them.
The piece is 70 × 55 cm.
I’ll share a few more new works from this series soon )))
The Mastery / 匠の技 project and the magazine covers are also on pause for now, for different reasons.
I really hope I’ll be able to come back to them again at some point.
For now, I’m just happy to be back here a little.
And to keep making things ❤️ by @katikaart

Hello! June is here, and so is the sixth cover of my non-existent Japanese magazine “Mastery”.
This time the hero is the wonderful @naked_cat_club

This cover brought me a lot of joy. It feels playful, bright, and full of personality.
And I have to admit — my favorite part was David’s tattoos. They were a real challenge to crochet, but also one of the most rewarding parts of the whole piece.

“Mastery” is my year-long project about people who treat crochet not simply as a craft, but as art and a way of life.
Six covers are finished. Halfway there. by @katikaart

Hello everyone ))
For the last few months I’ve been creating a non-existent Japanese crochet magazine called 「匠の技」 / Mastery.
Every month I make one new cover.
Each issue is dedicated to a real person whose life is connected to crochet .
The project is planned as a series of 12 covers created over one year, and later transformed into an exhibition.
The magazine doesn’t actually exist.
There are no pages inside.
Only covers.
That part is very important to me.

I’ve always loved magazines, especially Japanese ones. The colors, typography, strange advertisements, dramatic portraits, tiny details, glossy perfection. I love how seriously images are treated there.
At some point I started wondering:
what if a magazine cover became the final object itself?
Not something printed thousands of times,
but something slow, physical, heavy, and handmade.
So now I recreate magazine covers entirely in crochet.
Every piece starts with research and conversations.
Then I make a sketch, dye the yarn by hand, and spend around 150–200 hours crocheting the final portrait in my studio.
The title 「匠の技」 (“Takumi no Waza”) is a phrase I kept seeing in Japanese packaging and advertising for handmade objects and tools. It roughly means “master craftsmanship.”
I liked that it sounded both sincere and commercial at the same time )))
That feeling became very important for the whole project.
Because crochet also exists in this strange space.
People often see it as something soft or decorative, but behind it there is obsession, repetition, discipline, and an enormous amount of labor.
I think this project is my way of turning digital images back into physical objects.
Loop by loop.
Stitch by stitch.
And honestly, after months of working on these covers, the whole project itself started feeling like crochet too.
Repetitive.
A little obsessive.
But very alive. by @katikaart

Hello my dear ones ))
finally sharing the full process behind Marianna’s cover ✨
this work became very soft and alive for me, full of flowers, tiny details and many hours in the studio 🤍
thank you, dear @heegeldab for becoming part of “Mastery” ))
my project about crochet as art and a way of life 🧶
The project is almost at its halfway point already.
I want to admit that this is a completely non commercial project.
I’m doing it for art, to push the boundaries of crochet, and to deepen my own technique and practice ✨
I would be very happy if you shared this project, gave your thoughts or feedback, or suggested someone who could become the face of future issues.
Right now I’m already working on the sixth cover, and I truly hope you will love it by @katikaart

“a symbol of the times”.

Yes, a lot of books are being published now with this kind of censorship.
