A couple of show-off ALDS cards. The first isn’t really a card, but a Rays Junior Caminero Emanate auto /25. The second slide is an unnumbered, on card Guardians auto of Steven Kwan. The Kwan isn’t really anything special, but truth be told, I’m not a collector or watcher of Guardians, but I liked the clean design of the card. Both of these hits were from breaks over at @laytonsportscards. Whee!

I’m pretty sure this was The Orphans’ last show. I have a lot of wild memories of this band. The bassist used to whip his bass around his body, and on numerous occasions, threw up on stage. This night he clocked himself in the head and was bleeding. The singer, Jenny, was one of my favorite entertainers. 100% energy, and stood her ground with all the dudes she’s fronted. Loved it!

I got one photo of Rocket From the Crypt last night because the woman next to me all but steamrolled me, and everyone behind me had me pinned. I was grateful to get out there relatively unscathed. Gotta be honest, I really just wanted at least one pic of these scorpion pants. Got it! 😍

This is an incredible encapsulation of me and my interests. It’s a baseball card. I love baseball. It’s a stained glass card. I’m a stained glass artist. The player is blowing a bubble. I love bubble gum, but more so, I collect both baseball cards of players blowing bubbles, but also collect stained glass cards (those are usually two separate things). All these things intersected into one perfect Mike Piazza trading card. Pretty cool.

For the Astrogram… Love these space geeks to the moon and back. Man … or Astroman? Or, is it Man … or Astronova?

The last time I was at Irving Plaza was in 1996. Guess who was playing that last time? … These folks! That’s crazy. 30 years ago nearly to the day.

I’m headed to see Man … or Astroman? in a few hours, so here’s an old Polaroid of them from many moons ago posing with the full ass sized Tesla Coil they made and travelled with and … activated! I’m very excited to see them with Rocket From the Crypt and hug my friend, @eyesontheline. 🤍⚡️

When I first moved to L.A. in 1998 I lived right behind the El Rey Theatre. I was out riding my bike late, and on my way home saw a mob of people in front of the El Rey. I asked someone what was up and they said that Drew Barrymore was on her way. (It was the “Never Been Kissed” after party or something.) So, I biked home around the block, grabbed the only camera I had with film in it, and hurried back. Drew showed up right when I did. She exclaimed, “I’ll take three photos, but they have to be with women.” Ha! I exclaimed with my Polaroid, “Me!?” And she said in her adorable lisp, “Sure!”

Funny thing, this wasn’t the first time our paths crossed. I saw Hole at Toad’s Place in New Haven years earlier, and she was dating Eric at the time. She was just hanging out that night watching them. Fun!
