Maple is ADOPTED!!! One of my favorite adopters reached out to me about Miss Maple. For those of you who remember my diabetic foster dog, Goldie (now Catherine O’Hara), she and Miss Maple now have the same mama! Christine has adopted a number of medically complicated dogs from @deityanimalrescue. She saw Maple on their IG and knew she had to be her mama. Thanks to your generous donations to the Deity fundraiser, Maple’s previous medical bills are covered, and Christine will take over from here. Maple’s lump removal surgery is scheduled for Friday! And the best part… her new name! Everyone, please wish Jennifer Aniston a wonderful new life!!!

Win, @hefty_harold , Janeille and I took a quick and hot trip to Joshua Tree last weekend! The boys got to hike while Janeille and I sweated through our clothes by 9am. We also got to sit at the chef’s counter at La Copine twice! And got in some excellent star gazing. (📸: Janeille) by @katramsburg

On Sunday, Win and I happened across @rh_petportraits doing custom pet portraits at @shoptansyla and I never Venmoed someone faster! I don’t have a lot of Win art around the house but it’s time he got the same wall space as Louie has. I couldn’t be happier with the finished product! Reach out to Rebecca if you’re interested in your own painting! This took her about ten minutes and was very reasonably priced! Most importantly, Win and I love it!!!

She came to us from a “hoarding” situation. She’s a teeny girl with medical issues that need immediate tending and a heart that beats so strong. Turning away from her would never be an option, even when I need to be honest with you, our resources are waning. There. I said it.

Maple has already seen the vet. She had a full work up, including a senior blood panel, UTI testing, and an assessment of that mass. The results just came back and there are cells in there that tell us surgery is needed. I’ve attached all of the paperwork in our stories.

Reaching out tonight for your help. I’ve created a fundraiser for Maple and attached it here. To hold this tiny dancer in your arms is a joy, and absolute honor. Our heart breaks wide open. So much gratitude that she’s here and safe. We won’t stop until she’s on the mend, with a new lease on life. Because well, just look at her. She deserves all of it and more. If you can spare anything towards her radiographs, her meds, her mass removal, we’d be so grateful.

Romy the foster dog is adopted!!!! Romy has a new mom and dad as well as a dog brother who was a former foster of mine over two years ago! (Sully!) Romy is now living the good life. Her mom reports that she loves walking around her garden, and sleeping on the deck. And her brother Sully loves to follow her around protecting her!

Welcome Maple! Maple is my 72nd foster dog and I’m so thrilled to be fostering her for @deityanimalrescue !!! Maple is approximately 12 years old, 4 lbs, and a fashion icon. Shes great with dogs, cats, and kids, but would be absolutely fine being your one and only. Shes loves naps, snacks, and partying in WeHo on the weekends. When she grows up, she wants to host the Met Gala.

Romilly is 13 years old, approximately 9 lbs, recently spayed with a full dental. She isn’t on any meds and has no ongoing health concerns. She loves cuddles, walks, sniffing things, eating and EATING again. 😂 She’s great with people, animals and kids.

🌈 Thierry “Teddy” 🌈
Teddy left this earth yesterday. My heart is shattered despite knowing it was time. I’m grateful he made it clear he was ready to go, which isn’t surprising considering how he came to live with me in the first place.

5 months ago he came across my feed, euth listed at a shelter. And the shelter believed he was ready to pass. I knew I couldn’t handle it emotionally if he came to me and left quickly. He reminded me too much of Louie. @maisonsurerescue pulled another dog for me that day (Chouette) but decided to pull “Smoke” (his shelter name) as well. They thought he at least deserved to pass on someone’s arms, not at the shelter. His getaway driver knew the plan, but texted Maison on the way to the hospital with the news, “I don’t think this dog is ready to go yet.” After a check up with the vet, he proved that to be true. Which meant, he needed a place to go.

I said I would take him temporarily until another fospice could be found. But within minutes of him being in my arms I knew he was home. And I knew Louie had sent him. See, I’ve been struggling a lot about Louie’s final years. I know so much more now about how to care for seniors and I would give EVERYTHING to go back and make Louie’s final years better for him. The guilt seriously kills me. Teddy had all the same issues as Louie. And I got to do things differently. Do things better. It doesn’t change a lot but it changed things for Ted. I got five months of life with Teddy. Five whole months to do things differently. And in the end Teddy still died. I know that sounds ridiculous and also simple, but it shifted things for me. Caring for Teddy was almost an apology to Louie. A chance to tell him, I could have done better, and I will continue to do better with each fospice who comes into my home.

Right before Teddy and I left for his appointment, we were sitting on the deck in the sun, and I asked Louie to come get Teddy. On a perfectly still day, the wind chimes that I hung right after Louie passed, chimed. There was no wind or disturbance. Just Louie promising to shepherd Teddy to whatever comes next. 💜 by @katramsburg

Foster dog Romilly is still looking for her forever family! She is 13 years old, about 9lbs, potty trained, and perfectly healthy. She’s good with cats, dogs, and kids. Mostly she just loves being near her human and will follow you from room to room. She’s very quiet (except when you’re taking too long to make her breakfast or dinner.) She’s just the most perfect girl who deserves the perfect family! Apply to adopt her today!
