Mom- All I can say is that it’s still impossible to wrap my mind around the fact that you’re gone. I miss you more than I can put into words. I love you so much.

A piece of my heart will now forever be missing. I lost my mom, my best friend, my person. Her absence feels heavy, painful, and profoundly unfair. It is the deepest heartbreak imaginable.

Some things I love about my mom, Susan, and what made her the best mom I could ask for: Sue was the silliest girl, always laughing and smiling, always lighting up the room. We talked every single day, multiple times a day. My absolute best friend and mom all in one. Somehow making the worst days feel like everything was going to be okay by being there and being her.

Sue loved to have fun. I always admired how much she enjoyed life and loved to dance, laugh, and just live. She loved Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Cody Johnson, and any 80s music. Always there to make me a homemade breakfast, lunch, or dinner on a short notice. Scratching my back for 45 minutes even when her arms started to hurt. Letting me talk her ear off on the phone every single day. Being Grandma Sue to my doggy Leo. Being the best mother-in-law. Seriously being the best cook ever, ask anyone that knows her. Being the most competitive in card games and always winning. Watching our favorite shows Friends and How I Met Your Mother together. She made everything easy. She was my biggest cheerleader and my safe place.

Mom, you taught me so much throughout my 27 years with you. How to enjoy life and have fun, how to stand up for what you believe in, how to be strong. All of my best qualities are from you and I will try to live through you in every way and continue to make you proud every single day. I know Marko and I are your world and you will always be ours.

Now my guardian angel 🪽 Before my mom passed, her faith and love for God was a very strong part of her life. I know you’re smiling with Jesus in heaven now, Mom.
