5 years ago today. My favorite "youngest child" (bc they're all my favorite lol). When she was much younger than this she once asked me why I took so many photos of her teammates.. I told her bc some day it would matter (to her) as much or more than all the photos I took of her. And of course, bc I love action photography - I'm very much the amateur even today but love it anyway. It's about capturing the emotions in the moment... LIVING in the moment. Because that's all we have really. And whether we 'get it' in the moment or not, we definitely feel it over and over again when we relive it through the emotions captured in the photography. Take ALL the photos and videos of your moments and your people ๐Ÿ’œ. by @katrynnaa

Persistent. Relentless. Resilience by definition. That is our Moo. Every. Damn. Day. (Often starting as early as 4:30 am lol) by @katrynnaa
At 6 months old Mousse, our now 12+ year old Chocolate Lab, suffered cardiac arrest resulting in a traumatic ischemic injury to her brain (TBA) while under anesthesia to remove a pin from her tibial tuberosity (where the quads attach to the bone below the knee), after already having ruptured her quadricep 2 months prior while jumping on concrete at her first (and last) week of puppy daycare. She underwent rehab at the Veterinary hospital in Rochester NY, then another 8 months of rehab at a local veterinary office after release home to us. She had to re-learn to stand, walk, and eat. She has what would probably be termed Cerebral Palsy if she was human. She is cortically blind (her brain cannot Interpret what her eyes see) and has spasticity mostly in her hind legs, more on one side than the other. We have had to carry her up and down any staircase greater than 3 steps since she came back home and now have to help her with one step. She still rarely chews food, just inhales it (ummm but hey she's a Lab so...), and thinks she is a puppy so tries to chew us on occasion when excited with some really strong adult teeth. She has no inhibition (similar to some stroke patients) and so when anxious will bite. She cannot be around unfamiliar people or animals. We have to acclimate her carefully to new people (the kids have done a spectacular job with their significant others who Mousse accepts as her own now.) Despite all the challenges, she does very well even now as an 'elder' despite also being diagnosed with an MCT (Mast Cell Tumor) a couple years ago. I have been told by a Veterinary professional that it was unethical for the hospital to have saved her. Point is mute. They did save her. And honestly, she has been a happy lively dog more days than not and has taught us as a family and human beings so much more than we have taught her over the past 13 years. Forever and always our MOo. This came up in my memories this morning so I thought I'd share ๐Ÿ’œ. by @katrynnaa
Needed to move my body today. Woke up with a massive headache. It finally cleared, but I still felt foggy so I kicked on my all-terrains (not really, they're just running shoes ๐Ÿ˜) and let all the terrain kick me right back in the a$$. Feeling pretty good now. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘ #moveyobody #lymphaticdrainage #getphysicalitsgoodforyourmentalhealth by @katrynnaa
Another beautiful Saturday morning (albeit a bit chilly) at another farmer's market venue! Best breakfast burrito I've had since my days in San Antonio ๐Ÿ’œ. #grassfedmeat #pastureraised #wholefoods #newexperiences #sunnysaturdaymornings by @katrynnaa
