If you have some time to budget out for this paper it uses pretty accessible language 📖

It goes into the history of the Klan in Oregon during the 1920s.

Needing to rebrand itself, they placed their headquarters in an almost exclusively white state. Their visions of
w h i t e _ s u p r e m a c y
could be framed as ultimately peaceful once they were fully acheived.

Efforts in PR, caused membership to jump rapidly in the face of ALL THE HATE CRIMES THEY WERE STILL COMMITTING.

They still lost favor with the public and left Oregon. They lost a lot of points targeting white folk who wanted to be able to pay for their kids to attend private Catholic schools (we had to draw the line somewhere).

It's a valuable look into how hate groups repackage themselves to grow and appear legitimate to outsiders.

It's a good perspective to draw parallels from as many hate groups in the US have been growing substantially, this year in particular.

We must recognize that ^this growth°^means things are just getting started.

Now's the time for us to read up, and prepare for what's to come.
