I can’t believe this moment is finally here 🥹✨

After months of R&D, motion capture sessions, and long days building in @unitytechnologies, Kids Are Halal (But the Pub Isn’t) is on its feet for the first time 🧡

Our incredible team is sharing the first live prototype in Nottingham where motion capture meets spatial audio in an XR experience that explores what it felt like growing up between two worlds, to exist between cultures.

🗓️November 21st (Date moved due to team unavailability)
📍University of Nottingham’s VIP Studio

Press round-up for The Veil (2025) created with @alexismultiverse, an immersive performance exploring patriarchal shame through Indian classical dance, heels dance and digital projections. Now that we’re at the end of the residency, a little addition to the folder of reminders-to-self 💌

Ink, presses, reconnecting with the analogue and so many imagined inventions ♡

Loved facilitating Machines of No Reason designed by @tamsinloxley at @exrdfestival and guiding people how to write in reverse, invent, discover joy in real time, and print together.

I'm on the Immersive Arts UK website!

You can find me on the project page of The Kids Are Halal. It’s been really fulfilling working with Humira since 2025, exploring mixed reality, movement, and how immersive experiences can bring joy and create new ways for people to connect with space and with each other.

So a little update from a couple of weeks ago, we locked ourselves in Digital Catapult to develop our phase 2 prototype. Lots of twirling and giggles and meow meows in the studio with the team of brilliant problem solvers, Humira, Clémence and her iconic diary, Matt from Chunky Games experimenting, prototyping, running around, and asking big questions while wearing headsets.

I write this reminding myself that as much as we're worried about what we haven't achieved and the uncertainty of it all we've got to remind ourselves of where we are now and if we thought we could've come close to this years ago. Who else will remind you to stop and ask yourself if the 15 year old is proud of the you now if not you? taken in United Kingdom by @katterpil

Because I love print and get to spend the weekend around presses + imagined inventions 🖤 I’ll be helping facilitate Machines of No Reason, print workshops led by RCA graduate @tamsinloxley

Inspired by the historic John Haddon Etching press which dates from the Great Exhibition of 1851 !!

Come invent and print your own absurd machines with us, all ages welcome, no experience required, take it home or add it to the collective artwork, freeee at @exrdfestival @royalcollegeofart

Meet Kashish Gakhar - Co-curator & Social Media, Choreo-Graphic Systems

Kashish Gakhar is an interdisciplinary creative and movement director bridging South Asian culture with immersive technology. Working with creative coding and digital projection, she facilitates a dialogue between the body and technology, approaching heritage as a living, embodied practice. Her work explores the body as a site of memory, resistance, and storytelling. She brings a global commercial perspective as a former Art Director at Hakuhodo, where she led projects for clients including Honda and Kose. Her work spanning India, China, and the UK merges narrative depth with technical innovation, most notably in the performance The Veil at Frameless London. By investigating what the body is taught to contain, she uses movement to reclaim personal agency and disrupt these invisible scripts. She resonates with Choreo-graphic Systems by examining how cultural, digital, and ecological systems choreograph bodies and agency.
