Charging me for bread is crazy by @katy.hamyrad
Choosing the audio for this project has been one of the most nostalgic parts of creating it. These are the songs my grandmother sang while cooking, the songs my parents fell in love to, and the same songs I still play while making my grandmother’s recipes. Rooted is a reminder that home doesn’t disappear when we leave it. It lives on in our rituals, our memories, and the things we create. For every first generation immigrant, I hope this reminds you that home never really leaves you. ‘Rooted’ is a love letter to where I come from. It is a reflection on the parts of ourselves that travel with us. The traditions we inherit. The beauty we protect. The identity that endures. The Persian rug beneath has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. It lived in our home in Iran before making the journey with us to Australia. More than an object, it carries memory. It reminds me of the women who taught me that beauty can be both heritage and expression. Growing up, I learned that our culture has never been afraid of colour, texture, or ornament. We have always celebrated being seen. ‘Rooted’ is my way of honouring that legacy. A reminder that no matter where life takes us, we carry our roots with us, and from them, something beautiful will always continue to grow. Beauty and expression is part of the Iranian identity and like roots beneath the earth, it will always survive. I love my job🫶🏼 Most of all it’s a privilege to work with the people I do. True friendships are made when you’re bringing a vision to life together #creativeteam #creativedirecting #artdirectionforfashion #creativeprocess fashioncreative by @katy.hamyrad
The concept behind this project was “hide and seek”, the goal was to capture the beauty of femininity through freedom and playfulness. Thank you to our amazing team for bringing this to life: Model: @ionamarques Photo: @iconartphotography Video: @odysseycinematics #creativedirectors #fashionmagazine #fashionmarketing #workinginfashion #fashionproduction by @katy.hamyrad

No rigid brief, for this one. Purely the flow of the moment and direction that felt right… I prefer briefs that are simple and not heavily inspired from other content, I believe the idea must be clear but the rest will come together in the moment and I choose my team based on their ability to explore and flow on set.
