OffFest, Off West End Awards, 'Offies' 2026 - ALTAR by @emtambree

A week ago I ran away from Berlin to London to head to the Offies

Repping for @altartheplay and my beautiful team of Em, @eviekorver @eddie.pattison @callum.chair @kyradoeslights and @bethpatersonaus as our gorgeous Sutton understudy.

And we bloody won (!) Still basking in that post event glow, forever grateful that Em trusted me with their beautiful, courageous play of trans desire, faith and love.

And that they event produce so well, because I had a god-damned event brief in my inbox when I landed. ✨

🔥 "The voice. The songs! The VOICE!!! Come for Emerson's silky smooth vocals, and stay for a unique perspective on parasocial relationships from a self-described 'exfluencer'!"
🔥 "A wonderfully engaging show with killer music and a very charming performer. Emerson’s exploration of exfluencer existence is an event to experience."

I am THRILLED to announce that Parasocial has been selected as a Judges’ Pick for @melbfringe!

So much work has gone into this show, from @katyatesdirector @kyradoeslights @tomdickins @nickijam and the team at @lamamatheatre, and also me. I’m so stoked and grateful for us to get this nod from the judges to acknowledge all the effort!

Three shows left, let’s go!!

❤️👍😲 PARASOCIAL opens tonight and finishes this weekend - don’t miss it!

A one-man musical comedy by political satirist, niche online micro-celebrity and floppy-haired goofball Emerson Brophy. Join him as he traverses the weird, the wholesome and the downright uncomfortable realities of the one-sided relationships we have with the famous people we spend our lives watching.

Written and Performed by Emerson Brophy
Directed by Kat Yates

PARASOCIAL ❤️ We’ve been super hard at work to bring you this new show diving DEEP into the world of parasocial relationships. Join me and my funny songs as we explore why we fall into one-sided relationships with the people we watch from a distance, how they impact us every friggin day, and whether they’re bad news or just human nature.

Presented by the incredible team of @lamamatheatre, directed by @katyatesdirector, lighting designed by @kyradoeslights

And hot off the presses is this poster, designed by OG @iamthewong, featuring hero photography by @darren.gill

🚨 NEW SHOW ALERT 🚨

I’m beyond proud to announce something that’s been in the works officially all year and unofficially for a long, long time before that. Parasocial, my second solo show, will be debuting this Oct 6-11 at @lamamatheatre as part of @melbfringe

Directed by the incredible @katyatesdirector and lights designed by @kyradoeslights, I could not be more excited to show you what we’ve been putting together with the amazing team behind this show. I’m honestly so stoked and grateful and excited. Here’s what it’s about:

Your celebrity hall pass. The podcaster you’d love to grab a drink with. Your childhood crush (who may or may not be a cartoon character). You know EVERYTHING about them, and they don’t know your name.

AKA the parasocial relationship.

Parasocial is a one-man musical comedy by political satirist, niche online micro-celebrity and floppy-haired goofball Emerson Brophy. Join him as he traverses the weird, the wholesome and the downright uncomfortable realities of the one-sided relationships we have with the people we spend our lives watching.

All while resisting the urge to ask you to like, comment and subscribe. Honestly, it’s a bit of an ethical mess!

EGG TALK
Kat and I landed back in Aus on the 5th of June, got stuck into work on the 8th, welcomed our cast of brilliant actors on the 15th, and opened our @lamamatheatre explorations season on the 23rd. To say it has been a whirlwind is an understatement. Thank you for to @abby_4thwall @kidaanzelleke @stephanie.beza and @dels.evo for your tireless work and lending us your brilliant brains. Thank you to all who came along and so generously provided your feedback, warm laughter, and support. We are so excited to keep building this work. See ya for Egg's next form in a bit xxx
