I was nearly 50 before I started to follow my dream.

Being an artist was not seen as a realistic ambition as a school leaver. Instead I followed a rewarding career in health care specialising in neuro-oncology and then palliative care. Art was always a hobby, but I could not imagine it would become my life.

This is a story about remembering what gives you joy. Never give up.

My art has a life of its own..

Come with me and visit a magical footpath - inspiration for art that is created with vibrant patterned fabric and thread.

Let me give you a glimpse into the process and the reasons why I do what I do.

Yes, I spelt peek wrong 😁 Unfortunately I cannot alter it. Never mind….

Sometimes creativity takes longer than I would like.
But with slow work comes new ideas along the way.

The inspiration for this piece came from a few different photographs of a favourite place. It is an amalgamation of memories that I hope will bring joy to its owner.

Isn’t it interesting when you are asked questions that hadn’t occurred to you before?

I was totally relaxed and open in my answers with Irina @fiberchats and we explored lots of avenues, both artistic and personal.

It has taken me a while to watch this interview with Irina (on YouTube). Part of me hoped that I hadn’t said anything embarrassing. It was actually a revelation to me to hear my responses. My memory is clearly not great😄
