The path of righteousness and challenging the oppressor isn't meant to be easy, but it's definitely a meaningful one🙏🏽🤍

There is a place in Delhi called the Widow Colony. 📍

Tilak Vihar, West Delhi. After November 1984, the women who survived were moved here from the relief camps, after their husbands, fathers and sons had been dragged from their homes and killed. Each family got one room, one kitchen, one bathroom and a bulb, handed out by drawing chits. Women like Surinder Kaur, who lost her husband, son, brother and brother-in-law, raised the next generation alone, while their children were taunted at school as “from the fatherless Widows’ Colony”.

Informative books on the novemeber 1984 genocide from the sikh lens by @kaur.voice

The one that jumped in the well in 47' to escape the killings during partition in Rawalpindi was my mom's Bhua ji.

The one whose husband was burnt alive during 84' genocide and lived in widow colony with her children was my dad's chachi ji.

The pain and suffering is real. The trauma is too. But so is the resistance and the inner power our ancestors ead their lives with. Their faith remained strong through it all. 🩷🙏🏽 by @kaur.voice

The controversy surrounding British-Indian businessman Peter Virdee’s reported £500 million pledge for the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor raises serious questions about the difference between a public pledge and an actual donation.

Virdee publicly announced and promoted the £500 million donation, and sections of the Indian media reported the announcement in a way that the money had already been donated. However, there appears to be no publicly available evidence confirming that the claimed £500 million was ever actually transferred or donated.

Donation of this magnitude was never made, presenting a pledge as a completed contribution is deeply misleading and deserves scrutiny. Religious sites and sacred causes should not become platforms for publicity campaigns or grand financial claims that cannot be substantiated.

Claims involving such enormous sums should be verified not simply amplified.

Revisited this after 3 years, originally published on LinkedIn. Little would I know, through his actions he would initiate us into understanding non-duality.

While we still struggle to find the words to express our grief, let's try to hold space and listen, and come through for each other - it is more admirable to fail in the attempt than to point fingers at one another.

According to media reports, Punjab and Sikh history have been removed from the syllabus at Punjab University. Student organizations have raised concerns that the decision could affect at least 202 colleges across Punjab.

This raises an important question: if the history of Punjab and the history of the Sikh community are no longer taught in Punjab itself, then where will these subjects be taught? If the younger generation in Punjab does not learn about its own history, culture, and heritage through its educational institutions, what will preserve and pass that knowledge on to future generations?

What is particularly concerning is that, so far, the Sikh community appears unable to mount a meaningful and unified response to these developments, despite Sikhs constituting a majority of Punjab’s population. Politically and religiously, the Sikh community in Punjab remains deeply fragmented, which has weakened its ability to respond collectively to issues concerning its history, identity, language, and culture.

At the same time, a growing number of young people and families are leaving Punjab for the West, primarily in search of better economic opportunities, greater security, and a higher standard of living. This continued migration creates another challenge: as more of the younger generation moves away, there is a risk of an increasing disconnect from Punjab’s history, language, culture, and Sikh heritage.

These developments should therefore be viewed not merely as a question of curriculum, but as part of a much larger conversation about cultural preservation, historical memory, education, migration, and the future identity of Punjab and its people.

Nobody builds this by accident.

Slide 2 is the textbook. Slide 5 is one donation, followed all the way to the end. Slide 7 is the scale, next to something you already argued about this year. Slide 8 is the part most people get wrong.

Every figure traces to an academic database, a government risk assessment, a regulator's own published report, or this year's federal spending plan. Nothing here is alleged that isn't already on the public record.

$46 million moved through 21 registered charities. A tax receipt says money serves the public. Nobody checked whether it did.

Slide 3 names the four organizations at the core of the filing.

Every figure here comes from a regulatory filing and an academic database. Nothing is alleged that is not already on the public record.

This is the first installment of a new series. Slide 4 holds three statements side by side. You decide if the words matched the moment.

Is the RSS and Hindutva trying to expand their footprint within the Sikh diaspora through media reach and influence? Are Sikh pages being used to divert the attention of Sikhs and shape the narrative within the community?

The leader of the Hindutva extremist RSS was in the UK, and at a time when India needed Sikh attention focused elsewhere, suddenly a fake story emerged from AK Media. It took over the media narrative, and now the same social media page is defending the RSS leader’s visit to a gurdwara in the UK.

These are questions worth asking.
