Uncle Roger’s Kawan just dropped a NEW menu🏝️🔥

Finally made it to Chinatown to try the new dishes, and every single one was a hit! 🤤 Since opening in May, Kawan has been super popular, and its latest menu focuses on authentic Southeast Asian charcoal-grilled dishes and wok-fried favourites.

Here’s what we tried ⬇️

🍋‍🟩 Kawan BBQ Pork – Smoky, flavour-packed pork belly with a tangy, spicy lime sauce. A must-try for char siu lovers!

🐟 Straits Grilled Skate Fish – My favourite! Smoky, refreshing and topped with a sweet-and-sour plum sauce with Southeast Asian flavours. One bite took me straight back to Malaysian night markets 🇲🇾

🍛 Nasi Lemak with Malaysian Style Smoky Chicken Curry – Fragrant coconut pandan rice with sambal, crispy anchovies, egg and rich chicken curry. So satisfying!

🥢 Hokkien Soy Sauce Prawn Noodles – Generous portions, plenty of prawns and a deliciously savoury sauce, plus a special chilli dip.

🐔 Rempah Fried Chicken – Crispy, fragrant chicken infused with turmeric and lemongrass, served with a unique dipping sauce.

☕️ We also had their homemade 🍋lemon tea and 🍫iced Milo, both worth trying!

Honestly, the quality is impressive. Generous portions, great value and seriously good flavours. If you’re craving authentic Southeast Asian food in Chinatown, Kawan deserves a spot on your list! 🏝️

Is Uncle Roger’s restaurant Kawan worth the hype? 👀🤨

⭐️ if your entire day revolves around your meal.. I’m your girl @onlythehighlights_

Naturally the fried rice was top of my list to judge because of how much he bangs on about fried rice 🤣 so I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t just hype ⭐️ it had that smoky charred taste which is exactly what you want in a fried rice and it was packed with seafood 🍤

we ordered:
⭐️curry cloud toast
⭐️chinese Wellington
⭐️dry wagyu curry
⭐️fried rice from the village
⭐️ sizzling milo dumplings

Went in thinking it might be gimmicky with average food, but I was definitely proven wrong!

⭐ My favourite dishes: Fried rice — genuinely the best I’ve had, Amber chicken curry — so tasty 🤤

💰 Average price: £30 per person

🪑 Lots of seating across two floors, great for groups.

🎉 They’ve also just launched a new weekday lunch menu starting from £10.90 where you can choose from 5 different bento boxes!

🍰 Loads of dessert spots nearby in Chinatown to finish off the night.
