World Ballet day 🩰

With Ballet i have cried laughed, gained strength lost some, had times with high self esteem and times with insecurities.
With Ballet my body learned to move and be static , express and impress simultaneously, control and let go when it’s needed.
Ballet opened doors i have never dreamed of, and those i have dreamed of were embellished with it.
With Ballet i learned how to be generous and demanding, to give so much , expect so little, to share, create and fly with open wings.
I have seen different versions of myself and yet still evolving and flourishing through this beautiful Art.
Ballet is the way i see life, ups and downs, mostly tough and challenging but the rewards are tasteful and well deserved.
A path to a beautiful self discovery.

It’s Atay Sultan in my hand. 🇲🇦

① Adho Mukha Śvānāsana (अधो मुख श्वानासन) — Downward Dog.
🎺 Dijon by @daoudmusic , the French-Moroccan trumpeter I discovered recently and instantly fell in love with.

② Standing Cat–Cow.
🎵 @saib_eats , the renowned producer from Casablanca. 無為 (Wú Wéi) — the Daoist principle of effortless action, my mojo really.

③ Standing Spinal Twist (Parivṛtta – परिवृत्त).
🎵 Another track by Hamza. because I genuinely love this album. These twists always remind me of jazz dance warm-ups.

④ Jambe à la main.
🎹 Music by the talented Aïda Lahlou from Casablanca.

(Tuō Tiān Lǐ Sān Jiāo) — Holding Up the Heavens, a Qigong exercise to cultivate and build Qi (氣).
🎙️ Music by @layeena.voice , an artist from Agadir/Rabat with a mesmerising voice that always takes you on a journey.

⑥ Kapālabhāti Prāṇāyāma (कपालभाति प्राणायाम) — Fire Breath, another practice to harness energy.
🎶 Music by @azzahra.music , a multidisciplinary artist from Agadir who creates beautiful sound journeys by blending her voice, words and many instruments.

⑦ Jambe à la barre.
🎹 Music by Mohammed Chabab from Meknès, a wonderful composer and pianist whose work I keep coming back to.

⑧ No music.
