May-Thurners Syndrome Surgery!!

May Thurners is a vascular compression syndrome which caused both my iliac veins to be compressed. these veins deliver blood from ur legs/pelvis to ur heart & upper body!

On tuesday, I had two metal stents placed in my iliac veins. they went through the backs of my knees & pushed the stents up to my pelvis.

iliac veins are supposed to be around 10-14 mm wide, and before surgery my right vein was 4 mm & the left was fully blocked (no blood flow).

this means blood flow on my left side had to be rerouted through my right, which was also compressed & struggling!

the condition caused me a TON of pain & autonomic issues & other symptoms (more info on my story highlight)!!

rn im in a lot of pain still but we are hoping that this surgery will drastically impact my quality of life :-)
