Yesterday was my last day commuting from Hollywood to Santa Monica after a year of buses and trains 🥲 One last romanticized ride (I brought out the podcasting microphone for this 🤭)Whenever I’ve told anyone in LA what my commute is, more often than not the question I get is “why?” And that’s usually under the assumption I’m taking a car. Hollywood to Santa Monica via transit for the last year has been an incredibly distinctive way to experience my first year in Los Angeles. Most surprising to me is how reliable and robust LA Metro can be (*can*). For such a car-centric city, I feel strangely lucky I still don’t feel an immediate need to get a car here. I have grown to appreciate getting to know this city by foot, scooter, and one $1.75 tap at a time. Now I just have more time to do that. 🙂‍↕️ by @kaxcm

Lorde told us a story last night about how a loved one said they were worried about how she’d change when she goes on tour, to which she responded “I hope I change.” I’ll be holding onto that and planting that seed in my mind.Every time I experience my favorite music live I feel like I’m really honoring my inner child. If you told 13 year old Alex that he was 15 feet from Lorde in LA, after being 50 feet from her (and @charli_xcx) a few months earlier, he’d almost certainly say “I know.” Presumptuous and absolutely right.There is nothing like a Lorde show 🩵🩻Thank you thank you thank you MOTY @lorde by @kaxcm
