Almost two months since my first ever photo exhibit. Feelin a lil reflective esp after recently graduating, and it was really my community that made this accomplishment worth it. Thank you all for coming and for being part of my favorite moment ever. A night full of so much joy and love, can’t wait to do this again💐.

LDN, 2024

This series reflects my time visiting London and experiencing fashion and culture in a way that was both contradictory and interesting. In my perspective, London culturally felt conservative and formal in some ways, as their reputation follows, yet experiencing the Black nightlife there felt anything but conservative. The density of West African and Caribbean people in London added to an active nightlife culture that was sultry, fashionable and unexpected. The two men in suits and military berets reflect the parts of the culture that uphold the reputation of formality, while their physical framing of the centered woman reflects the provocative adventure and boldness that I encountered exploring this city’s nightlife.
