I missed the last two runs with @gonzoruns , so this one was catch-up 😵‍💫

32km. Over 1800 metres of climbing. 3 peaks tagged and seven hours on our feet.

Running up Chapman’s Peak Drive I got closer to a rainbow than I’ve ever been. I can confirm there was no pot of gold. I guess I’ll have to go back to work now 🥲

What I hadn’t accounted for was that tagging Noordhoek Peak isn’t the end. To get to Surfers Corner you run through Silvermine before you can drop into Peck’s Valley. My knees be damned (@yumnaaisaacs could’ve warned me).

Thank you to @jase_c_21 and @robinramedies for agreeing to join me knowing it was going to be a long day out. Appreciate you guys 🫶

Gonzo 13 Peaks Challenge - Segment 1 ⛰️
📍Signal Hill → Lion’s Head → Maclear’s Beacon

I knew this would be a challenge, and I was humbled! This turned into the longest 23km run of my life. Everything went really well and I felt good, right until I tagged Maclear’s Beacon…then I think I hit a wall.

Getting back to Kloof Nek parking felt like it would never end. I’m still not entirely sure how I made it there, but somehow we got it done. 😂

2 peaks down, 11 to go! 💪

Saw some really nice boulders on the Mystery Adventure run with the @trail.leopards 🐆 Not all went as planned due to safety concerns, but the bundu bashing was good fun. We made sure not to disturb the fairies 🧚✨ taken in Suikerbossie, Hout Bay by @kay_ontherocks

First official trail marathon in the bag 💫 Really proud that I managed to cross that finish line in juust under 7hrs.

That was so tough and humbling, will I do it again? Probably.

Thank you to @georgemountainultratrail , the volunteers and aid station crew were the friendliest and most helpful people I’ve ever encountered at a race, and it made all the difference. Running really brings people together, so grateful for those I encountered along the way.

Looking out ahead at the mountains I’ll be conquering in 2026, not just physical mountains but mental ones too. @gonzoruns what an awesome day out, thank you for showing us these epic routes! ⛰️

The start of this year has felt heavy, and it’s a struggle to fight for the balance, especially to make time for the things that bring you joy. These mountains remind me about what’s important, and they teach you things, most importantly that you’re strong AF and you can do whatever you put your mind to. Lately training has been sporadic, last minute runs, minimal sleep, mental fatigue and the feeling of being socially inept. But we get up, and we try again. @utct 23XE🏅Blistering hot and humbling! 🥵 I went in very confident, but at the start line I knew I’d have to adjust my expectations.

Just really happy to have been there experiencing the vibes of this epic event, and to see all the incredible athletes taking on the ultra distances. I’m feeling inspired and a bit restless 🤩

But the last pic sums up my feelings for most of the race, so for now it’s time for much needed R&R 🤣🥲

A big thank you to my sisters @juliaderock @mel_dr_za for supporting me on the day and making sure I had all my goodies ❤️ I honestly don’t know what I’d do without you two. RACE WEEK @utct 💅🏁

Spent way too much time in the sun in recent days. I don’t think I can recover from this sock tan and my brain is cooked! That said, my training has looked rather different this time around, balanced and more consistent.

Forever grateful to the team at @move_diepriver for keeping me grounded 🫶 …And to the big guy upstairs for the gift of movement. Not everything is promised, so cherishing every moment! 🤍 by @kay_ontherocks
