September 2026

1–3 come from my cousins registry, which I did the film photos for
4 shows off my new setup which I use to scan film negatives, it’s good fun!
5 shows Nicola performing an epic card trick
6–7 are from my friend Lorena’s graduation, which I again did the film photos for, the only payment I wanted was to be able to wear the gown so there you go, I promise in a real graduation I won’t look like such a tramp
8 shows equal tax day at spoons, where everything was apparently cheaper though tbh I didn’t feel like it
9 shows a history table I had crafted up for a local church that they could put on display, I’m not religious but learning about the buildings history was good fun
10 shows my dear dog Alfie after his surgery, he has a weird tumour thing removed from his nose, thankfully he has been healing well
11–14 was a trip to turkey with my family for my grandfathers 90th birthday, I think I took over 1000 photos
15–16 is the undertale concert!! It was a fantastic night and if it ever does come around again, I highly recommend anyone to get tickets to it, the music is well worth it
17 a note I found in 2022 which I have now attached to my pc bc it’s getting louder lol by @kaya.em

August 2026

This post has taken me the better part of 2 weeks to choose the photos for, and even then it doesn’t focus on the whole of August! All of these photos come from a trip I took to Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

This mini holiday has got to be one of the highest rated holidays I’ve been on in my life, the Welsh countryside is beautiful and I highly suggest anyone who is considering visiting to please do so! While we were only there for 5 days, so many activities were shoved in to make it a constant conveyor belt of things to do; exploring the beach, going to an aquarium, cooking, BBQ’ing, Kayaking, Zipworld and hiking. In the end I took over 1.2k photos on 4 different cameras, the bulk of which came from the Hike day with there being over 500 alone.

I’d like to thank designated drivers @kayanjjj and @j.melton0026 for being the only two of the ten people to actually have a drivers licence and make the trip possible! Their driving was a wee bit manic though lol. I’d also like to thank everyone who contributed to the cooking of the meals throughout the few days, the spaghetti was nice on the first night, chicken thighs and potato were fantastic, and the BBQ manned by Joe was very delicious indeed.

The area we stayed in was extremely peaceful, I was waking up at about 6:30–7:00 in the morning before everyone else, and all I could hear was the sheep when stepping out of the door. It was extremely relaxing. by @kaya.em

July 2026

What a fantastic month this has been!!! Let’s go through the images in order now shall we:

1–11 took place on July 18th, it was my birthday party!! The theme this year was simply dress-up, it was a wonderful evening that I was happy to spend with my friends and 1 member of my family (Ali-G), not sure how I will top it for next year though… I’ll figure out something. I dressed as John Constantine in case you couldn’t tell (nobody could 😔)

12–17 took place on July 16th and it was a pub quiz night at The Fox in Palmers Green, if you haven’t been to their pub quiz I highly recommend it, it’s on every Thursday. Because we were such a large group of people we ended up splitting into two teams, one called ‘Quizky Business’ (my team) and another called ‘Kaya’s Stripy Tie’ bc I found a cool tie at the charity shop and wanted to wear it. Both our teams were in the Top 3 for the first round, 2nd round we still managed to stay up but by round three we died a horrid death… still managed to get free shots for 7th place tho.

18 took place on the 25th and shows me and my friend Sophia, she just graduated from Lancaster Uni and earned her law degree!! So we went to this new pizza place in Southgate to catch up, they gave us free champaign!

19 took place on the 21st and features the lovely Denise Blackwell, who I am sure some people will remember, I hadn’t seen her since the 2024 Foundation day and happened to have a chance encounter with her on a bus a few days prior, so I asked if we could go for breakfast and she agreed! She told me so many stories about my old job (both good and bad lol) over the 50 years she worked there, one of my favourite stories took place in the late 90s, a parent was begging for a place at the school and said to Denise “I could offer you free hair do’s if you help me out” and Denise snapped back with “is my hair that bad?!” which sums her up amazingly.

20 took place on July 4th on a pub crawl in Reading, where I got to meet my long time internet friend Ryley and some of their friends. The night was a lot of fun and we went to about 6 pubs I believe before I had to head back to London. Looking forward to seeing you again at Comicon!!! by @kaya.em

June 2026

Started the month with some Karaoke followed by a trip to the cinema to watch that new horror movie Obsession (it’s a banger and I highly recommend it), went to the carvery with my mum, did an event with the BBC news lady, a pub stole my photo for advertising (yay).

Also in the month, I was manned at a stall with The Enfield Society where I met the new Mayor, she is holding a booklet I made in the photo. Worked with Koray, saw some nice interiors, stayed up way too late one night and saw the sunrise at like 4 in the morning.

The big batch of photos at the end are from the Armed Forces day, which I did part the photography for, the elderly gentleman shaking hands with the mayor is Donald Howkins, a D-Day veteran who turned 105 recently. Afterwards the mayor invited me and my friend into her office along with the other members of the event to have some donuts and tea, great hospitality on her part :) by @kaya.em

April 2026

In large part a very good month, it was primarily filled with me doing some Enfield event photography for the various going on’s in the borough, one of the big ones being the fight against the new town in crews hill; there was a day of action up there where everyone signed petitions followed by a second one outside the Enfield town Barclays. There was also the St George’s day parade by the scouts which was a surprise as I didn’t know it was gonna happen!

On the London Marathon day, me and my friend went to seek out Dawko of fnaf fame, we both watched him a lot during our younger years so it was nice to go and support him.

Besides that I’ve been spending time with friends and family, not the most detailed description compared to some of my other posts but whatever I can write what I want, next month will be better since I am going Cyprus tomorrow. There was one big thing this month that happened, but I forgot to take a photograph !!! taken in Enfield - North London by @kaya.em

March 2026

I couldn’t actually remember much of this month until I looked at the photos, let’s see… ok so the first one is me being a recording engineer for the Enfield Talking Newspaper, completely smashed that I must say as the guy said I was a natural — not to brag.

The next photo is me visiting my friend in Essex, we did some filming for a video he was working on which I cameod in (still has not been released and he’s been working on it for five years mind you). The third pic is me at work messing with the infinite tunnel. Pics 4–7 are all from concerts and raves, special focus on Peter Capaldi though as it was so cool to see him irl — never got a pic together tho! Pics 8–13 mainly feature when me and my friends hung out to make fried chicken (that was literally the plot of the whole meet up ). After that are a bunch of work related things — I am very happy with how my Enfield Society newsletter came out! It’s on a notice board next to the Enfield Spoons so go check it out if you fancy. by @kaya.em

February 2026

The photos from this month largely come from the birthday my mum hosted for our neighbour John, who is one of the most selfless and considerate men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. When I moved to my current flat in 2020, John made an effort to greet us and also made an effort with my dog Alfie. My work schedule was often in the way of the dog, so John would go out of his way to take him on walks on my behalf and “give the little man a long walk around the park”. It was his 70th birthday on the 21st, so we invited him to my mums home in Bishop’s Stortford for a mini dinner party.

Besides that, other photos come from my visits to Bruce Castle Museum, my cousins 21st birthday, watching Markipliers new movie Iron Lung with @akan_efe1905 , a game night with my friends @kayanjjj , @hhhhaaaannnnah , and @_floragrant , and a hangout with my friend @fl0r3naa . Overall, a good month! by @kaya.em

January 2026

This month has been constant rain - so much so to the point that I’m actually struggling to find photos of me out and about in this weather… regardless it’s been a nice month! Went clubbing with friends, saw family, did some volunteer work for the newspaper and preservation society, shot some race photos, and a few other things! I am really loving film, if anyone has the money to invest in a point-and-shoot film camera I strongly recommend it! by @kaya.em

November 2025:

The festive season begins! I began using a film camera, I originally bought it from a man at Camden station who was selling it for a tenner, ended up getting some great snaps with it, though I did start using a point and shoot for the majority of photos.

I also recently co-wrote and illustrated a study about Suffolk genealogy, something me and my co-author Julian had been writing since about September 2024, though the projects origins can be traced back to March 2023 (maybe even 2022 to be honest), it was a very fun exercise, and I wanna give big thanks to LUS for printing the book with the cover I designed! by @kaya.em

October 2025

I’ve become an old man in the sense that I’ve started using more old technology in the form of an analogue camera and cine film projector (courtesy of my grandparents), the photos have come out quite poorly to be honest but the process is fun!

In other news I’ve also become the editor of the Enfield society magazine, I have never edited a magazine before so I’m enjoying the challenge of learning how Adobe InDesign works.

I also dressed as Tom Baker for Halloween, but to be honest, I use to dress like that everyday at my old job so you could say I’m just dressed as me lol taken in Enfield, Enfield, United Kingdom by @kaya.em
