Meet Mina. (Comment “Mina” below for a link!)

Thank you @Kamrette for sending this over! The amount of use I’ve got out of this camera bag this month is INSANE. I’ve taken it on shooting sessions around the city, and as my main backpack for a weekend trip to Shenzhen. (Stay tuned for the footage of that adventure!)

Comment “Versa” and I’ll send you the link! 🔗

I have been wanting a crossbody camera bag like this for a WHILE, but everything I came across was either too bulky or too utilitarian.

Thank you @kamrette for sending this over, because I’m in LOVE.

I’m working on a comprehensive camera bag video for the tube of you, so keep your eyes peeled. 👀

February in Hong Kong, means heaters, blankets, cozy drinks and sweaters one day… and beach days the next..

Here’s a photo dump that doesn’t even BEGIN to touch the 1500 photos we snapped. 😅

From watching the Davis Cup, to waiting in a 1h 45min line to get up the peak with @ivonazivkovicc who stayed with us for CNY, this month was SO FULL.

It’s been wonderful weather for hikes and island adventures.

Trying to shake perfectionism and just share more of life here as it happens!

Some other noteworthy events tacked on the end:

🌱 I’m officially building out my pothos collection (new hyperfixation unlocked), I’ve gone from killing every plant I’ve ever touched, to having the unquenchable desire to have every inch of my home covered in them.

🥣 we FINALLY tried a macaroni soup breakfast after living here for a year and a half. Darren gave it a 10/10 and it’s his new favourite breakfast food outside of Dim Sum.

Being a creative person and running a creative business is a weird balancing act. Because as much as we don’t like hearing it… they are two different things. And I’m not particularly good at nurturing both sides of myself at the same time.

As a response to our feeds feeling increasingly less human, @samnewton put out a challenge to create 7 videos with 7 unique voice overs, over 7 days. And the idea really resonated with me.

But when I set out to participate, I ended up putting a lot of pressure on myself from BOTH sides.

My creative side wanted to create a work of art, to *move* people, to be deep and thought-provoking… and realized that that part of my brain had been collecting a lot of dust.

Meanwhile, the business side wanted to maximize reach, and not mess with the momentum I was starting to build on @creatingwithkaya after I had *JUST* started taking short form seriously again.

But alas. We created something.

Not strategic, not particularly thought-provoking. But a bit of expression nonetheless.

Here’s my day 1 of the #MyVoiceChallenge25. Not sure if I’ll make all 7, but it feels good to try.

First time playing with my latest purchase: the @venuslaowa 10mm on my @nikoncanada #NikonZf

We’ve lived in Hong Kong for a year, but somehow this was our first time reaping the benefits of living in an Asia Travel Hub.

I say somehow… but really, it was the tons of visitors we had during vacation time, and also I think we overthought how much it would cost and take to go away for a few days!

Hoi An, Vietnam, was such a perfect getaway, and it made us realize how easy it actually is to dip out of HK on a weekend—especially a long one, so hopefully there’s a lot more travel in store for year 2!

You see that #nikonzf around my neck, so you can bet I vlogged our trip… let’s just hope I can get to it sooner rather than later! 🤣🤭

I’m the meantime, I’ll be dropping more highlights here! by @kaya.marriott

Whether you’re looking for a date night in Hong Kong, an evening the whole family will enjoy, or passing through as a tourist, you do not want to miss this!

What an honour to have been invited to share this experience with @westkperformingarts .

We have some family coming to visit soon and this has already been added to the itinerary!

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Speaking of family, the family package includes 2 standard tickets and 2 concession tickets (stalls seating) in the price of HKD$780.

I don’t think anyone here thinks I moved across the world with someone I’ve known for *months*…

but this trend is ADORABLE, and I’ve been having a lot of fun creeping through other people’s versions, so here’s ours.

First birthday living abroad. ✨🇭🇰

While these clips are all about me, it really is a little love letter to my husband who made the day so incredibly special and directed and planned this little shoot.

The only instructions he gave were to bring 3 nice dresses, and he proceeded to take me around town snapping polaroid pictures for a scrapbook to look back on… oh, and to some AMAZING hot pot. 🍲

Darren thought he was hilarious with the 23 candles–but it really got me thinking about where I was at that age and how the life I’m currently living would have confused the heck out of her 🤣. by @kaya.marriott

Fridays swimming in bath water and playing in the sand.

Realized I’ve been overthinking curating my instagram and having everything be “in order” to the point that I’ve completely missed sharing little slices of life—or just kept them to my stories.

So here’s my public sign of life. 🪧

I’ll be honest, I love the access to @adobe tools and the extra cash, but the connections ARE EVERYTHING.

Nearly 3 years later, and I’ve connected with people around the world, and am still SO inspired by the creatives in the @adobeexpress community.
