I can’t even put into words how grateful and blessed I am to be here, a college graduate, Summa Cum Laude, and a semester ahead of schedule. This journey has been anything but easy, and there were times when I thought this day would never come. Growing up, college never seemed like an option for me—there were too many obstacles, too many doubts, and too many reasons to believe it wasn’t possible. But here I am, proof that with faith in God, perseverance, and the love and support of family, friends, and mentors, anything is possible. None of this would have been achievable without God. He has truly carried me through every challenge and every hurdle. I want to thank everyone who stood by me, believed in me, and contributed to this success. Whether through words of encouragement, prayers, or simply offering a helping hand, you’ve all played a part in making this dream a reality. This journey wasn’t easy, but every late night, every sacrifice, and every struggle made it all worth it. As I step into the next chapter of my life, I’m excited to announce that I’ve accepted a full-time position as a Youth Mentor at Maryville Academy Youth Center, working with ages 8-18 that lack different resources. I want to be the person I needed when I was growing up—the person who shows them that no matter where you come from, you can rise above and achieve greatness. The road ahead may not be easy, but with God and the right support, I know it’s possible. I can’t wait to continue growing, learning, and giving back❤️ Class of 2024🎓 by @kayannnaaa_

as my senior year of volleyball at UIC comes to an end, my heart is filled with gratitude and I can’t help but reflect on my journey. I want to give all glory to God for blessing me with this opportunity and guiding me through the highs and lows. my journey has not been easy and growing up my life was filled with many obstacles and hardships, nothing for me ever came without hard work and sacrifice. but I’m a living testimony you can make it out. To my family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone who believed in me, encouraged me, and supported me even when times were tough; thank you. It’s been a blessing to play collegiate volleyball. To anyone chasing a dream, know this: it doesn’t matter where you come from, what you have, or what you don’t, anything is possible. You can be whatever you want to be! just continue to keep God first and never give up. Don’t ever count yourself out!

This past week I went to a church conference called UTC standing for Ultimate Training Camp. This camp was filled with athletes from all around the world , coming together for one purpose and that was to grow in our faith. The camp was based on how athletes can glorify God , and ultimately we learned about five different principles 1. Audience of One: “Who and What do I Worship?” 2. Inside Game: “What Motivates You?” 3. Holy Sweat: “How Do I Grow ?” 4. Better > Bitter: How do you Deal with Suffering ?” 5. Victory Beyond Competition: “How do I Live For God’s Kingdom and not Mine?”

We then completed this team activity called the S.P.E.C.I.A.L and it was twenty hours of very hard physical competition. It was the hardest thing I have ever done both mentally and physically. This was to symbolize the twenty hours leading up to Jesus’s death. It pushed me beyond my breaking point and I at one point I couldn’t do anything but rely on God. Even though at times I wanted to give up I made it through! But I want to take this time to give all the Glory to God because without him I am truly nothing. I was so blessed with the opportunity to experience this. I am not defined by my sport and no matter what my performance looks like on or off the court I am accepted by Christ. The God I serve never fails , and deserves all the glory every day. Met so many amazing people that supported me every step of the way! I walked away from UTC with real friendships that I will have forever🫶🏾

to Team 17: you guys are some of the strongest people I know both mentally and physically! Thank you for showing me grace when it was needed, and supporting me every step of the way! Y’all are my family and I will never forget everything we went through together. I love you all dearly and I’m so blessed that God allowed me to be on the same team as you all. I’ll never forget everything you all taught me , and it’s definitely TEAM 17 FOREVER💚💚 taken in University of St. Thomas by @kayannnaaa_
