No words could ever express what I’m feeling right now. I can’t believe I’m even writing this. I miss you more than words could ever explain.

I don’t know what I’m going to do without you. I keep waiting for your calls, waiting for you to check in on me. I find myself replaying the voicemails you’d always leave when I couldn’t answer, holding on to every little piece of you I have left. I keep replaying our last conversation, our last hug, our last laugh. If I had known those moments would be our last, I would’ve held on a little longer.

My heart aches in ways I never knew were possible. Papa, I wish you knew just how much light you carried within you. You had a way of making me feel so much better, so much lighter, even after just one conversation. Your laugh was contagious, your presence was uplifting, and the love you carried was felt more than you probably ever realized.

I hope you’ve finally found peace. I hope you know how deeply you are loved and how much you will be missed. Until we meet again, I hope you’ll continue to watch over me and guide me through the rest of my days. My guardian angel, forever. 🤍

Please, check on your loved ones. Always. It doesn’t matter if they’re the happiest person in the room or the quietest. Sometimes, the people who bring the most light into everyone else’s lives are fighting battles we know nothing about. We can never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile, and I hope we learn to look a little deeper, listen a little closer, and show up for one another a little more.

I mean this with my whole heart when I say that men’s mental health deserves so much more attention, compassion, and understanding than we give it. Men deserve to feel safe enough to speak up, to be vulnerable, to ask for help, and to know that they don’t have to carry everything alone.

Please remind your people that they are loved. Check in on them, even when they seem okay. Make the call. Send the text. Ask the extra question. Sometimes, the smallest gestures mean more than we could ever know.
