At home barista tip: did you know pouring hot espresso straight over ice shocks the espresso shot? The rapid temp change in the espresso weakens the flavor and then you end up with watery coffee! You’ll also lose the crema of the shot, which holds a ton of flavor! If you want a stronger coffee taste in your iced lattes at home do it in this order instead:

- brew espresso straight over syrup
- stir espresso and allow to cool slightly (30 seconds)
- pour into milk
- then add your ice

Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean Syrup - so easy and so delicious! It doesn’t have that artificial store bought taste that a lot vanilla syrups have 🤢

Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean Syrup

- 1 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 vanilla bean (can find at Trader Joe’s)

Cut open vanilla bean and scrape the inside out, place vanilla bean paste, empty vanilla bean, water and sugar in saucepan. Bring to a simmer and let simmer for ten minutes. Store in a glass jar in the fridge for 2-4 weeks!
