We onboarded 5 people to our 3.5 person team on Monday.

Was that a crazy idea? Absolutely.

Did it work the way we expected? Absolutely not.

Over the last 7 months we’ve been looking for that one person to come in and lead our sales team.

We realise the job is a full time position, it’s not something my partner or I have time for, and we need someone with expertise.

So we started looking for people. And then we found some. So we started 1 of them, then a couple of weeks later they left. So we advertised again, found a different person, started them, and then they left too. And then that happened another 5 times.

They all left for different reasons, family problems, health problems, etc etc.

So then we thought ‘okay, well we really need someone. So maybe instead of hiring one person, we hire 5, train them all together and then see who sticks, because going by the track record, only 1 or 2 will stay’.

Well, we were wrong.

Whats actually happened is we’ve hired some really great people. And now we’ve got 4 really qualified, really good people.

So now we either have to generate more leads for these great people to sell to, or we have to let some people go.

This is what I call a ‘luxury problem’. I thought of this before we started but I thought the reality this would happen would be slim, but well, now we’re here.

Who knows if they’ll stay for the next few weeks/months, but right now it’s shown us what good looks like.

But in the mean time, if anyone needs me, I’m gonna be having a nap. Because it’s been a lot 😭😂😅 by @kaydeevisuals

It’s been a pretty eventful week.

First I ran my first 5k race.

Then the dresses that we’ve been searching for, for over a year, finally arrived.

And omg. They were so worth the wait.

They’re beautiful, they look suddenly elevate the entire photoshoot 10x.

And the adults dresses arrive soon too (hopefully) eeeeek!

Here’s a little photo dump of my adventures 😁

‘Things that feel difficult are good for you.’

First 5k race, completed 🥳

Honestly, my body has been through so much this week and was actively fighting me every step of this.

But we still turned up.
Put the headphones in
And ran.

Finishing time was 31:08 with a pace of 6:13/km

And honestly, I’m happy with that. It’s not my goal of sub 30, but given we woke up with nausea, are on sedating medication, ankles still sore from a previous stupid overuse day (note to self: dodgy heels 2x days in a row for 8 hours, then a 5k run is the worst idea you’ve had). It’s pretty good.

And now we start the 10 mile training. 💪

Let’s explore Verona together, pt 1.

We wandered through the streets and saw a beautiful building on top of a hill and thought ‘wouldn’t it be amazing to go and see it up close’.

It turns out, you can. And nearly no one does, because it’s quite a walk up some really steep hills.

It’s the Santuario Della Madonna di Lourdes.

The views from up there are insane.

Totally recommend.

I’m gonna tell you a secret.

There’s never a perfect time, a perfect situation, a perfect day.

All you’ve got is now.

And I know, there’s a million different reasons why you should wait. Put it off. Do it later when you’re more prepared, more experience, more ready.

But, if you have to wait until the ‘perfect time’, you’re never gonna do it properly. Not consistently.

So take the risk. Make the decision. Just start.

And I know that voice in your head is saying ‘but what if I fail, what if it all goes wrong’. And I hear it too.

But… what if it all goes right?

Be a little delulu. Let yourself believe a little. And, just start.

I sent my mum a text the day, one that every business owner, and person relates to.

It said “I’ll figure it out, I always do”.

This was after a catch up call, where I explained briefly all the problems we were having.

Half of our Staff quitting. No one turning up to interviews. Lead quality getting worse. People spending less. Less bookings. Less sales. Less leads. Fires spontaneously catching in every direction.

Being a business owner will have you becoming 8 completely different versions of yourself every couple of months.

Like genuinely, who I was 2 months ago is not equipped for the problems I’m dealing with now.

And that’s the thing no one really tells you.

The problems don’t get easier or smaller.

They get bigger, more complex. higher stakes.

And every time, you have to figure it out anyway.

You have to become the person who can handle it.

Even when you’re tired.
Even when you’re ill.
Even when you have no idea what you’re doing and you just have to hope and pray it works out.

It’s just a constant cycle of: find the problem, fix it, something else breaks, repeat.

But one thing that’s kept me sane is remembering I didn’t choose this life because it was easy.

I chose it because I wanted to make a change. I had a dream. And so we try every day to make it happen.

Look what we did 😭🧚✨💕

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve put in an unthinkable amount of hours. I’m talking 9am-11pm, every single day for 4-6 weeks straight.

We’ve had to learn how to do literally everything from scratch. Like sanding, plastering, painting, building walls, designing and so much more.

The progress was so slow. I cried more times than I can count. And the phrase most said was ‘mmmm I love sanding walls’. Because honestly? There’s nothing worse than sanding walls by hand.

The thing with having high standards is it takes so much time to pull something off.

The night before we opened we worked for 22 hours straight. Went home for a 2 hour nap. Then went back to the studio and opened. It’s been brutal. But it’s finally finished. Or nearly. Close enough. taken in London, United Kingdom by @kaydeevisuals

For years I struggled with stomach problems.

At 15, doctors said lactose intolerance.
At 18, I assumed IBS.
So I just lived with it.

Daily cramps.
Nausea after eating more than 400 calories.
Struggling to gain weight no matter what I tried.
And all the IBS style symptoms you can imagine.

By 23, I weighed 36kg (I’m 4’10”) and decided to seriously try gaining weight. I tried everything. Eating more, eating more often, drinking calories, drinking cream (yes, gross), 1 litre of milk a day, high calorie shakes.

Instead of improving, my symptoms got worse.

At 24, I wanted proper answers. So I went to see a gastroenterologist who finally found the issue: a narrowed aorto-mesenteric angle (mine is ~5mm, when it should be >10mm). A second opinion with a different dr ruled everything else out, we did every test (including gastroscopy) you can imagine.

I was prescribed medication to help my stomach relax so I could gain weight and it worked. I’m now around 42kg.

But the symptoms are still here.

With SMA syndrome, there are usually two options:
conservative treatment (weight gain, to increase the angle) or, the one I dread, surgery

For some people, weight gain alone resolves it. For others, it doesn’t. And I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that my case may be more anatomical than fixable by weight alone.

So why am I telling the world this?

Because I want to be transparent here and transparency means sharing the unglamorous side too.
And if my story helps even one person push for answers instead of accepting “it’s probably IBS,” then it’s worth sharing.

I’ll share updates when I have them. Currently, we’re waiting on a referral into the NHS because private healthcare insurance has ran out. taken in London, United Kingdom by @kaydeevisuals

Eeeee it’s about 7 days until we’re meant to move house and business locations. Yes, we have to do both in the same week. And no, the new studio still isn’t anywhere near being finished.

Who knew plaster would take so long to dry?!?!

Also, what is it with delivery companies saying ‘oh you want the big and heavy things delivered? Sorry no, we can’t do that. But those paint brushes you want? Yes, we’ll deliver those, but we’ll have to deliver them in 2 different deliveries, on 2 separate days’.

If any needs me, I’ll be crying, whilst I sand some walls down again. 😭😭😭 taken in London, United Kingdom by @kaydeevisuals

There’s something about having a really important deadline that’s not close enough to cause panic, but definitely something you should be working on, that just makes me want to work on literally anything else.

We’re currently in the process of building a new studio. And moving house. In *checks date* 13 days.

Sure, we’ve got a looooose plan. But none of the materials for the new studio have been ordered (other than some skirting board).

None of our home things have been packed. And I can almost guarantee we’ll be moving out using a Waitrose trolley to move our stuff again.

Oh, and of course, whilst those 2 are going on, we’re also trying to do literally everything we can to make the business successful. Make it so unreasonable that you have to succeed.

Will we open the new studio before we’re out of time or will we have to cancel bookings and close for a week? Stay tuned kids. I have no idea what way it’s gonna flip.

P.S. Here’s a pic of a brunch I had in Spain I’m still dreaming about 2 years later. taken in London, United Kingdom by @kaydeevisuals

2025 wrap up (it’s still January, so it counts right?)

2025 was a year of growth, and lots of chapters ending.

I faced so many challenges, and honestly, it was an incredibly difficult year, in business and in personal too.

From redundancies, to health issues, to near eviction, to business (all of it, hiring, firing, training, contracts, finances, BAU, and everything else).

I’m glad to see the end of 2025 to be honest, it’s cleared the way for a lot of exciting things.

But we also had to many good times in 2025. So here’s a couple of the highlights.

It’s safe to say I really followed f*ck your mood, follow the plan. 😘✌️ taken in London, United Kingdom by @kaydeevisuals
