Dear Wrestling,

This sport has been my greatest teacher and test in my life. You taught me how to struggle, how to suffer, and how to fight.

You introduced me to so many amazing people that I will be forever grateful for. From SVWC to Ambrose Wrestling and everything in between, I have built so many friends and relationships that will be with me forever.

After a failed major shoulder surgery and multiple dislocations, I’ve come to the decision to walk away from competition for good. Although I would love to come back, I need to take my health into account. This is been a very difficult decision but I believe this is what’s right for me and my future goals. But I’m not done with the sport.

I cannot wait to help coach the future generation and help people grow the same love for the sport that I have. This sport is so amazing and I want to be involved in it in any circumstance, even if it’s not the way I desire.

I don’t know where life will take me next, but I know one thing. Everything I become, will be because of this sport.

Thank you Wrestling,

For the Struggle,
For the Suffering,
For the Lessons,
For the Life.

Year 2 ends in a little bit different fashion than I would’ve imagined, but it’s just another small bump for what’s yet to come…

I can’t thank this Senior class enough for the lessons they’ve taught me, the improvements they’ve given me on the mat, and most importantly the brotherhood I’ll forever have with them. This team is truly special and I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have these guys on my side.

Regardless of the injury, I’ll be back. It’s gonna take more than that for me to leave this sport.

Grateful to have the opportunity to lace up and compete again.

More than ready to finally announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at St. Ambrose University. Thank you to coach Bo and the team for making this easy. I am finally back to the sport and I am so thankful.

To high school wrestling:
These 4 years were a blessing, and the best years of my life. Although I didn’t accomplish what I wanted, there were so many good things in my career. The friendships I’ve built, the coaches I have bonds with, and the people supporting me are things I will cherish forever. Morrison Wrestling will forever be in my blood, and I will continue to help build this program and support, but I’m ready for the next chapter of my wrestling journey.

To college wrestling:
We’re just getting started. What you saw at state isn’t the competitor I truly am, and I’m gonna prove what I’m worth. Pumped for the college scene wherever I decide to go, it’s time to go to work!
