Living Free in Mind 🧠 Body 🧘‍♂️ Spirit 🕊️
“You cannot access the full range of your reality from inside a dysregulated nervous system” - K

POSTS STORIES REELS

This year’s medicine Nobel Prize went to a way of switching individual brain cells on and off with light using optogenetics.

Three researchers found a light-sensitive protein in algae that works like a switch on a nerve cell. Shine light on it, the cell fires.

Put that protein into chosen brain cells, and you can turn them on and off. You can then watch what the brain does and see exactly what that group of cells is responsible for.

Here’s what I find fascinating and exciting about this breakthrough.

They didn’t invent that switch. They found it, in algae!

Life has been using light to move signal through cells for a very long time.

The brain speaks in electrical signal. That’s its native language. And light turns out to be one of the most direct ways to communicate with our brain.

Not as a bio-chemical substance. Not as something you take. But as bio-physical information.

To be clear, optogenetics is a lab method. Genetic modification, implanted light source. That’s not what I work with, and it’s a different mechanism entirely.

One is cellular, one is sensory.

But both depend on the same thing. The nervous system is listening, and light is something it understands.

That’s exactly what the NeuroVIZR is built on.
Patterned light and sound, delivered through closed eyes, timed in ways the brain registers as new and worth paying attention to.

Not a sedative. Not a frequency you’re tuned to like a radio. A signal that instead asks the brain to respond.

And that response is the whole point.

The brain adapts to what it meets. Give it novel, structured input and it has something to organise around. That’s where neuroplastic change lives, not in being soothed or coerced, but in being engaged.

Eleven minutes at a time.

For me, understanding my patterns didn’t change them. Light signalling did. Within a week of using the NeuroVIZR I felt my brain unsticking from loops it had been running for years and now it’s a go to tool I use in my own practice and with my clients.

If this is something you want to discuss further to see if it’s a fit for you, send me a DM.

My hours are flexible and I cover most global time zones.

Yesterday I popped over the mountain to the @neurovizr office in Chiang Mai to pick up my new set of group session devices. 😁

If you haven’t come across it, NeuroVIZR is a light and sound experience that engages your brain in 11-minute sessions. It’s designed to facilitate short-term state shifts (i.e. alert to relaxed), longer-term trait shifts (i.e. over-anxious to calm), and to stimulate neuroplasticity. Basically: a healthier, more efficient brain, a more regulated nervous system, and you getting out of your own way.

I’ve spoken directly with facilitators and practitioners all over the world who use this tech in their practices, clinics and centres, and I’ve heard their accounts firsthand, along with people I know who’ve used it themselves. The inventor is a personal friend and mentor of mine. I’ve spent a lot of time around this technology and I trust it.

Neurowellness is one of the biggest trends in wellness right now, with no signs of slowing down.

I’ll be offering my services as a mobile neuro-studio facilitator, bringing group sessions, workshops and demonstrations to:

- Yoga centres
- Wellness retreats
- Breathwork
- Sound healing
- Festivals
- Spas
- Longevity clinics
- Sauna parties
- Pre and post training for athletes, performers and artists

That list isn’t exhaustive. If you’re running something and it feels like it fits, it probably does.

You can join me at my retreat at Koh Jum Beach Villas, 4–8 October, and weekly in Pai.

DM me if you’d like to talk and find out more.

Our Fascia Yin class will be accompanied by the NeuroVIZR, supporting the nervous system through gentle light and rhythm while we soften into stillness. A slow, grounding practice to release tension, listen inward and allow the body to unwind: guided, held and deeply nourishing. 🌿✨ by @kayeisfree_

This Friday we had the honour of collaborating with
@journeytoyourhearts_ and Vassilios to deliver an immersive shamanic sound healing journey combined with FasciaYin at @eudemoniaelements Organic Nights.

FasciaYin invites deep stillness in the body through slow, sustained fascial release. When paired with sound, the nervous system has space to settle, reorganise and return to coherence.

As the fascia softens, breath deepens and internal noise reduces, the body naturally shifts toward clarity, regulation and ease. This is where physical release supports emotional and mental balance, without force.

Come and experience a space where movement, sound and stillness work together to restore coherence in the body and nervous system.

Every Friday at Organic Nights
From 3pm at Eudemonia Elements, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai

🕉️☯️Yin Yoga Morning Practice

This morning, we explored Yin Yoga, focusing on deep stretches around the hips — an area often holding physical tension and emotional energy. Our practice included inhalation for 5 counts, exhalation for 5 counts, and two rounds of breath retention, which helped us cultivate stillness and awareness.

✨ From a scientific perspective, Yin Yoga works on the fascia and joints, improving fluid circulation and the flow of vital energy. The practice of slow, steady breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest-and-digest mode), which regulates the heart rate, reduces stress, and helps release deep-seated muscular tension.

🍃 After every class, we offer a healthy breakfast to nourish and restore the body perfectly complementing the gentle yet powerful benefits of Yin Yoga.

🧘‍♀️ Our Yin Yoga class takes place every Wednesday, guided by Teacher Kaye @living_free_with_kaye a certified and experienced Yin Yoga practitioner.
🎯For next Wednesday, you are warmly invited to join us simply reserve your spot in advance via Inbox. 📌🧘‍♀️ Advance booking is required only 4 mats available.
Classes take place every Wednesday, 8:00 – 9:30 AM. All equipment is provided, so no need to bring your own mat.

Because we believe…
Yin Yoga in the morning brings energy for the whole day, eases body tension, and restores your inner balance.☮️ by @kayeisfree_
