Month nine (birthday month) is over and I still think I’m in love with this city and my people here. Even with a separate birthday post it was hard to narrow it down to just 20 photos but here they are (newest to oldest just cuz). My ribs are fucked and so October isnt off to the greatest start but….I have a feeling it’s all going to be just fine and next monthly update will be just as hard to fit into one silly little post. I had my first birthday in Seattle and let’s just say I feel FULL. Of food, drinks and love.

There were oysters by the water watching seaplanes take off and land, a funky martini, a pinball tournament in my honor, a seven course brunch (with drinks to go along with it) - all surrounded by a community of new people and friends that I love and feel so loved by. Thank you to each and every one of you - near and far - who reached out and made me feel loved. I love you back so so SO hard. by @kayeyeem

August (part 2 of 2 also in reverse) - The summers here are short but I spent every day of this month exactly how I wanted to: eating, drinking, celebrating, spectating (sports, sunsets and eclipses), singing, laughing and just falling more and more in love with this city and its people. And I did it all with cute nails as usual. 💅 by @kayeyeem

August (part 1 of 2 in reverse) - this month was tough to consolidate down so it’s another two parter that absolutely could have been three or four parts. It was just that fun. Summer here is VERY different from LA and when I think about it I missed my pool and the beach. But if I’m being honest there hasnt been much time to think about or miss those things at all.

A lot of August was spent around, on and in the water with time playing pinball, at ballgames and enjoying good food with people I love all mixed in. I finally made it to the aquarium, had a pop up split flip tourney, went on a friends boat, took my first ride on the ferry (to Bremerton), more concerts, my first Belltown Blast, swam in the lake and that was only the first half of the month…. by @kayeyeem

Month seven in Seattle part 2 of 2 (in reverse) - too much Seattle summer goodness for one post. And even still there is a lot that had to be filtered out. Just know I’m still loving it here. Nothing is perfect but this seems as close as it gets.

Ballgames. Jimothy mania, my first dead baby downhill party, walks by the water, placing more highly than ever (2nd and 6th) in tournaments, birthdays, bowling and all the other usual things with all the usual suspects.

Month seven in Seattle part 1 of 2 (in reverse) - because it was just that packed with good times and good people that I couldnt fit it all into one post.

Visitors from out of town, outdoor concerts, seafood and music festivals, a dip party, food and drinks with friends and as always…more pinball (and a great mani). Seattle summers are pure bliss. by @kayeyeem

Well thats a wrap on month six! Pride, solstice, so many birthdays, Quasi and Belle & Sebastian at zoo tunes, hot air balloons, bingo, more pinball (always) and the tiniest little guy is back home and getting comfy and I’m working on doing the same every day.

There have been some kerfuffles but we all have each others back here and it’s been as beautiful as it is unexpected to find. Love all you guys - thanks for welcoming me in to your community. Now you’re all stuck with me. 😘 by @kayeyeem

Month five?! 🤯 More good times with good people - visits and foods with old LA friends, more gems and minerals (I still regret not buying that azurite), movies, cheesy martinis, cookies and cakes and more baseball and pinball and nights with Seattle friends. I like the way this is going. by @kayeyeem

Month four in Seattle but do it backwards (because I want that cute pic of me to be first). 🤣

April was full of nights that turned into mornings with new and existing friends. There was (and will continue to be) lots of ball related fun. Baseball and pinball specifically. 😝 A few birthdays, karaoke and singing and dancing in the streets, a scavenger hunt, brunch, a hair cut (finally) and a visit from the best little tiny guy.

I sound like a broken record but I feel like the luckiest girl to have found these people and I’m not going to stop saying it. Thanks to everyone for showing me a good time night after night (and well into the morning). by @kayeyeem

March in Seattle. I hit my three month mark and while this one was a little tough - turmoil (near and far), time changes and a scratched cornea had me feeling a bit down, the only way I could be happier here is if my LA bbs came to visit. 😏

I went to a gem and mineral show!!!!!! Placed (3rd) in a pinball tournament for the first time, enjoyed the rain, the snow and the sun. The cherry blossoms are in bloom, they’re infusing tito’s with parmesan and black pepper and making delicious martinis with it, I’m being handed little trinkets outside the bar that bring me great joy (thanks Nicholas!), baseball season started, I found a Twilight Zone pinball machine, I finally had some teriyaki and my nails unexpectedly glow under black light.

Time flies when you’re having fun. Today marks two months living here. I spent the first couple of weeks of February pretty sick but I got to see the mountain, experienced a superbowl win and space needle fireworks, explored some pretty places alone and with the bestie who got engaged back home(!!!!) and who came for a visit, got to see old co-workers I havent seen in forever, sang emo songs on the street and in peoples kitchens, SNOW, HOT TUB BOAT, cute dogs, new pals, good times (thankfully amongst all the bad times), shenanigans and of course pinball which I suck a little less at everyday.

The last 30 days (!!!) from present to past.

I know January was 369 days long for everyone else but it has flown by for me. It still feels unreal that I’m even here. I’ve done nothing and I’ve done everything. I can’t wait to do more - and less.

The world is a terrifying place lately but I’ve found myself surrounded by a lot of rad people (and dogs) who make it slightly less unbearable (whats a Seattle freeze)?! Joy is a form of resistance and I am finding it in all the things I can - and I hope you are too.
