In 5 months I turn 40. I’m asian and understand that my genetics plays a factor. I bend and have the treats more than I can admit and could use more water (no one’s perfect and I like to live a little). However, I’ve also worked out consistently since my early 20s. Botox since my mid-30s. 5 rounds of Sculptra, strategic and minimal HA filler placement, RF microneedling + regular microneedling and consistent retinol with medical grade skincare & SPF since my mid 30s. I rarely sunbathe, and if i do there are always hats involved. I have not any lasers (yet), but that’s next on the bucket list. taken in Durham Region by @kayflo.np

Before joining primary care and medical aesthetics, I worked as an RN in acute care surgery, particularly orthopaedics/ENT/plastics/trauma/neurosurgery. I had taken a deep dive into clinical teaching, corporate training, co-charing hospital unit councils, hospital-wide quality improvement and research initiatives, all while bedside nursing and obtaining a masters degree, which would lead me to publish my very first article (at 2 months post-partum no less!). Looking back at my educational path and career, I am reminded of how much I love learning, and constantly expanding and improving my knowledge base. This is the same philosophy I bring with me as a primary care practitioner and aesthethic injector. Hi! My name is Katrina and I am a Nurse Practitioner in the Durham Region with interests in primary care and aesthetic medicine!

I have a BA in Kinesiology and Health Sciences and a BSc in Nursing, both from York University. I have been an RN in orthopaedics/ENT/plastics/trauma & neurosurgery since 2012, and acquired my Masters in Nursing and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2020. I have over 14 years of nursing experience.

I completed my aesthetics training at @aptinjectiontraining and I strive to continue to further my education with special interests in facial balancing and complication management.
My goal with aesthethics is grounded in the nursing process, involving a holistic and multi-modal approach to enhancing natural beauty. Apart from aesthetics, I maintain a position working as an NP in both primary care and outpatient colorectal surgery.

I grew up in mid-town Toronto and recently moved to the Durham Region with my husband and 2.5 year-old toddler! I love all things aesthetic, including fashion (@_.outfitarchives) and interior design/DIYs (@kayflo.design). 90s/2000s hip hop & RnB hold a special place in my heart and I can probably recite the lyrics to most old school RnB songs lol.

A thoughtful, staged approach for this patient 🤍
We’ve created a treatment plan focused on gradual, natural results over multiple sessions. Today we started with neuromodulators in the upper face and medial cheek filler to restore structure and support. You can see how only 0.5 ml in each cheek has improve the appearance of her under eyes. We will wait for her tox to settle and then, we’ll reassess and consider adding volume to the lateral cheek for further balance and harmony. Photos taken immediately after.
