hey! hi! there are a lot of new faces here, so figured i’d give a lil introduction — i’m kayla! a photographer who just so happens to love photographing weddings (not just a wedding photographer, there’s a difference, but for seo purposes… ya sure, i’m a wedding photographer). based in florida, but i will happily travel to your destination.

i hope these slides give you some insight into who i am as a person, and what excites, inspires, and motivates me to see and document life in all its messy, beautiful, imperfect glory.

if you’re in a season of life that calls for celebration, i’d love to hear all about it. i’ll document it with warmth, care, and intention. joyfully, honestly, playfully, artfully.

xoxo (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

5. hugs on hugs on hugs
6. anya surprising her besties
7. isa admiring her beautiful mom
8. little ones before the ceremony
9. a warm embrace
10. that moment when your daughter walks down the aisle and right into your arms
11. so many tears
12. more tears, and the realization that I’m capturing the tears
13. when they see each other down the aisle 🥹
14. pure joy
15. so much excitement fit into one tiny elevator
16. dice on the dance floor
17. tarek’s parents being the coolest people at the reception

life lately on 35mm film 🫶🏻

i sat in on a webinar yesterday that covered the state of the industry, and one topic the panelists kept coming back to was how important it is for wedding industry professionals to take care of themselves, both mind and body. i have to constantly remind myself that i’m not a robot, and that it’s okay to take a break and not be glued to my laptop 24/7. to rest, to spend quality time with friends and family, to leave space for novelty, spontaneity, and fun.

experiencing these moments allows me to show up with a full heart and feel inspired on wedding days. i like to think of myself as less of a vendor and more like another friend in the room who just so happens to have a camera (or seven, because i have too many film cameras and i love them all).

featured sweet moments:
— the cutest backyard shower for baby potter
— seeing old friends & celebrating new ones
— driving 3 hours south to see one of my favorite artists with great company
— exploring a new city with my recently engaged friends, being silly, eating, and drinking to our hearts’ content by @kayla_surico

happy three year anniversary to ash & sam! i flew up to pittsburgh a few weeks ago to celebrate their engagement and we spent a whole weekend exploring the city and taking the sweetest photos <3 here are just a few of my favorites, shot on digital, 35mm, and medium format film. ugh, i can’t wait for their wedding!!!!
