this has taken me a few days to post because it still doesn’t seem real. when callie showed me her senior pictures, i never thought i would be seeing them at her funeral. over these past few days ive been confused and frustrated with God, but i know callie is smiling down at me from heaven and that brings comfort. Callie made me a better person in every aspect she could, but most importantly she made me a better Christian. I keep thinking back to last season, and how she played that whole season for an audience of one. God. We’ve had great leaders at corinth but Callie was something different, she led on and off the field with her kindness and selflessness. Everytime i was angry and down about a situation she would always lead me back to God, I am thankful for a friendship so rooting in his word! I’ve been reflecting on our friendship and a word that keeps coming to my mind is “intentional”. callie was intentional with everything she did. with our friendship, sports, school, relationships, her faith, and everything else she was a part of.
Callie showed up at my house Sunday night out of nowhere, just to see me. I don’t know what made her decide to come all the way out to my house that night, but that was just the type of person she was. She always made time for me and everyone around her even though she was always the busiest person i knew. I am so thankful for that last night I got to spend with her and i wish i could say “bye, love you” just one more time 🫶🏼🫶🏼
The other day i was talking to my family and they made me realize how lucky i was to have a best friend like callie. “most people don’t ever have a friendship like that in there whole lifetime” is what was said. although these few days have been the worst days of my life, i am just grateful to have known and called such a sweet soul my bestfriend.
Thank you callie for showing me true friendship and kindness towards others. I can’t wait to see you again queen, i love you forever 💜💜
