On Wednesday Night, April 22, my dad went to be with the Lord. Since this all started back in January, I’ve had lots of time to reflect on who my dad was and my favorite things about him - and then seeing what everyone has said confirmed it even more. My dad was someone who pointed to Jesus and pointed others to Jesus too.

I am so unmeasurably grateful and blessed to call him my dad. My dad loved people like Jesus did, he carried the joy of the Lord. He loved to make people laugh, but he also loved to challenge people and love them through sharing the truth with them. From the waitresses and waiters he was would pray for at every dinner to the countless people he welcomed into his home and family - the Lord used my dad to plant seeds in their lives and help guide them in his relationship with the Lord. What a challenging and convicting thing - to live a life on a mission for Jesus.

While I miss my daddio so much - his laugh, his smile, his hugs, his support, his protectiveness, his love that only a father can give - I rejoice in knowing that he heard the words “well done good and faithful servant” and is no longer in pain. In fact, he is having the best time of his life with his savior - and what a gift and joy that is. 🩵 by @kayleeebender

Happy birthday to my daddio! My dad is someone who is full of joy, love, and most importantly Jesus! I couldn’t thank the Lord enough for giving him to me as my dad! 💗
Please continue to pray for a miracle with us as we wait for my dad to fully recover from his stroke and wake up from this coma. We know we serve a God who is more than able! As we wait, we continue to fix our eyes on our Lord and continue to see His goodness, despite the circumstances. by @kayleeebender

Life with josiah is truly never dull! He never fails to make me laugh and be so goofy with me! He always points me to the Lord and pushes me to grow! His love for the Lord and his joy is so inspiring! I am so blessed to have such a loving, silly husband! I love you josiah! by @kayleeebender

Words cannot express how thankful I am for this trip and this group of people!

My life was impacted greatly by this trip to the Dominican Republic. It was such a blessing to get to know and form relationships with this community, to get to be a light for Jesus to them. We were able to bless a church/pastor by painting the church a new bright blue! We also cleaned up their community, taught kids about the power of God through the story of Daniel, and provided some clean water to people who desperately needed it. I could never imagine the fear and pain they are going through, yet they still have joy and love. It really caused me to take a look at my life and what real gratitude and joy is.

This trip will be something that forever impacts my life! Thank you to everyone who donated and made it possible for me to go!
Thank you Jesus for this trip and for the relationships I formed on this trip!!
