Today I have a new found respect for Gods creation. I am so grateful to have been gifted with a different perspective, gratitude, and food on my table going into this new year❤️

When I first was interested in hunting I just thought of it as sitting around and eating snacks waiting for something to shoot. I found out it’s so much more after shooting my first deer today.

Something about sitting quietly in the woods brings out a lot of thoughts in your mind and allows you to open your ear towards God. I am not going to lie, I felt impatient and frustrated after waking up early and spending afternoons for days waiting for my shot. I was a second from giving up even ever trying to hunt again because I was beginning to think it was just not my thing. Especially after trying last season and not getting the result I hoped for.

As I sat in the woods this morning God began to speak to my heart about the true meaning of a waiting season. Many times we get frustrated and give up during our season of waiting when our reward is just right around the corner. We point at God and get angry and blame Him when we give up because not everything is working out our way. Had i given up seconds before, I never would have gotten my reward today and it would have been my fault. I also would have missed out on Him showing me a new perspective.

Going into this new year I am encouraged to embrace my waiting seasons and also look for what God is trying to teach me through those times. God is doing new and amazing things, even when we can’t see it! I cannot thank Him enough for all that He has done and is going to do and I can’t wait to see all of His plans come full circle.

With all of the tragedy that has hit North Carolina & those around us, I cannot be more grateful for our family trip that we were blessed enough to experience for another year.

My prayers go out to those who are suffering the tragic loss of family members, businesses, memories, and most of all the security of home/family as they know it.

There are no words that I could ever put together to provide the comfort that is needed during this time, but I do know a comfort that is everlasting. There is nothing more powerful than a cry out to our savior, Jesus.

I have come to know a great organization that is providing immediate care to these families, convoy of hope. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with them to provide hope & restoration in a time of great loss. If you would like to donate or work with them please click the link in my bio.

Also please do not forget to pray for our linemen, first responders, those out risking their lives to save others, and their families. They truly are heroes & sacrifice so much.

Two years gone by too fast, but more blessings, love, and memories are sure to come🌞✨

What I have learned in my 24 years is that we always seem to recognize we are having beautiful moments when we are in them but we never truly understand how beautiful they are until they have passed. I hope that I can always learn to understand the beautiful moments more & soak them in during every present moment.

Thank you Jesus for the memories and new seeds you allowed my sister & I to root within this home & in each others hearts. I will never forget & always hold these years close to my heart.

Cearra, I am so proud of you & I love watching both of us blossom into the people we have worked so hard to become. May we always carry our love & bond to inspire others to build the same. I love you so much baby sis💟 by @kayleigh_longg
