For today's #filmfriday - a lesson in long exposures.
Long exposures on #cinestill400d means doing my own reciprocity failure math. With long exposures on film, sensitivity drops accordingly, so I shot these at f/8 during blue hour with 4-second exposures.

After getting brunch in London with @nici_grams, we walked by a shop with absolutely stunning clothing in the window. The designs were Andor and afrofuturism with luxurious items as far as the eye could see. The leathers were thick and linings were plush, offset with bright brass and steel zippers. Linen garments were light and flowing, mixed with interesting silhouettes and exceptional sewing. Reclaimed canvas offset many of the pieces, forming an image of utility and careful craft. Most importantly, the decor gave off a distinctive pro-Black vibe.

The owner, @kervinmarc, filled the space energetically with a large personality and an inviting demeanor. He treated the space as both a workshop and a storefront, displaying clothing in colors and textures aplenty. The paintings ringed the walls as well, with their bright jewel tones setting off the high-end garments nicely.
.
Obviously, a conversation kicked off almost immediately. We covered topics ranging from Black liberation to cowboy films to musicians of all stripes. At the end, as I nearly always do, I asked for a photo of the designer. I said I would post, that this wouldn’t be the last time he saw me, and that I would be back.
.
This represents the first part of my vow, a tribute to a conversation. The latter parts, where I come back to the shop and buy a bunch of stuff, well, those parts will come later.

During a photo walk with @bodhi_kingkong and @slew.radley we struck up a conversation with an expert people-watcher and sunbathing enthusiast. I asked to make a photo, hoping to seize the magic of the moment. I took 4 photos and edited two. Each image needed a moment of stillness to capture focus and intention.
