My mind keeps trying to convince me this is a nightmare I’ll wake up from.

But I won’t.

Mitchell is gone.

Some losses make no sense, and this is one of them.

Three little girls will grow up without their dad. A mother has to bury her son. The world lost an incredibly gifted artist.

But SOAP’s art will live on.

It lives in homes, on walls, across our community, and on the skin of those who proudly wear his work. He could turn anything into something beautiful—murals, paintings, cover-ups that gave people their confidence back, tattoos they’ll carry forever.

And I lost a friend who was unapologetically himself.

Seven years wasn’t nearly long enough.

He loved, laughed, and lived loudly.

I’ll miss the little things most.

The moments that felt ordinary but became everything.

Some people leave a mark on your heart that never fades.

Mitchell was one of them.

I have pictures, artwork, handwritten notes, and tattoos I’ll carry for life.

But it still doesn’t feel like enough.

I would give anything for one more laugh, one more sarcastic comment, one more hug.

To his family, and everyone who loved Mitchell, my heart is with you.

And to his 3 beautiful babies…

I hope you grow up hearing stories that make you laugh the way your dad made all of us laugh. I hope you always know how talented, funny, and deeply loved he was. I promise I’ll always tell you the good stories so a part of him lives on.

You left this world far too soon.

I hope you’ve found peace. I hope you and Josh are creating art again. I hope Grandma Judi saved you a seat at the Jays game. I hope you’re back on your Harley, the music too loud, with a casino just around the corner.

Until we meet again.

Rest easy, Mitchell.
