Thanksgiving feels a little different this year.

It’s hard to celebrate gratitude when the person you’re most grateful for is no longer here.

I am listening to my mom’s old voice recordings, replaying them just to hear her speak again.
I wore her perfume today, not because it’s my favourite scent, but because for a fleeting moment, it feels like she’s close enough to embrace.

It’s strange how grief makes the smallest things so sacred. A familiar voice. A lingering scent. Little pieces of someone you would give anything to have one more ordinary day with.

I’m learning that gratitude and grief can coexist. That I can be thankful for the life she gave me and still feel completely heartbroken that she’s no longer part of it.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for every memory, every conversation, every hug I didn’t know would someday become a treasure.

And if love could bring someone back, Mom, you’d be sitting right here beside me.

21.1K. My first half marathon. 🏅

I wish my mom was here to see this.

There were so many moments during this race when my legs were in pain and tired, my heart was heavy, and I wanted to stop. But I kept thinking about her — the woman who taught me what it means to keep going, even when life hurts.

She was fearless. She was strong. And somehow, every time I wanted to give up, I could hear a little bit of her in my head telling me to keep moving.

So this finish is for you, Mom.
For everything you taught me.
For the strength you left in me.

Third year planning this annual @nfjf.shred with @backsidetours and honestly it has been my hardest. Going through something personal while being my typical people-pleaser-overly-hospitable-self has been a struggle. But I couldn’t make it without my girls. 👯‍♀️
My NFJF core group. My planning committee. 🥹❤️
This trip reminds me of how just being in the mountains heals you, fuels your soul. And why this trip has always connected with same minded people.
