💫 Remembering Our Eternal Babaji 🙏

From California dreamer Gilbert Levey to Goa's spiritual guide, he gave the world something magical - the gift of trance as meditation, beats as prayers, and dance as a path to the divine.

Through 24-hour sets that transformed souls and decades of protecting our scene's sacred essence, Goa Gil didn't just play music... he channeled cosmic frequencies that connected us all to something greater.

Though he's left his earthly form, his spirit lives on in every drop, every festival sunrise, and every moment we find transcendence on the dancefloor.

"Dance is active meditation" - words that will echo forever in our hearts.

Rest in cosmic peace, Babaji. Your legacy beats eternal. 🕉️✨

"Well according to the encyclopedia, here is the definition of the word "shaman": Shaman «SHAH muhn», is a person considered to have powers that come from direct contact with the supernatural, often in dreams or trances. The term shaman came from a Mongolian word. However, peoples in many areas have shamans who they believe cast out evil spirits or bring good, especially by curing disease. Shamans may be found among the Inuit (sometimes called Eskimos), Maori, Mongolians, Polynesians, and other peoples. American Indians had similar beliefs.
By having direct contact with the supernatural, the shaman becomes a channel of the Cosmic Spirit, and uses the music as a vehicle of transmission of Shakti (Cosmic Power and Grace). I have always said that the Goa party is not just a disco under the coconut trees… it is an initiation. But again, it is all how you look at it… And here is where I take the opportunity to suggest to all those up and coming dj’s out there that one of the tools that will help you to be centered and focused and help you to do your job much better is Dhyana or Meditation. I feel this is very important!!! If you want to be a shaman (or techno-shaman), then self surrender and some sort of spiritual discipline and practice is necessary. Otherwise you are just playing"

Left this realm. But will never be forgotten. 🔱

Maha Kumbh 2025.

Through wandering with an Aghori Sadhu across India's pilgrimage routes — from Puri to Varanasi to the Amarnath Cave in Kashmir — Gil became a Sadhu himself, initiated under the name Baba Mangalanand, under his Guru, Mahant Nirmalanand Saraswati.
His Guru taught him everything about Hindu spirituality and the duties of a Sadhu, and those learnings entered the dance floor thanks to our own Psy Babaji. 🧡

Day 02/28

"When I come to the party place, and set up my alter, sprinkle the Holy Water, recite the Holy Mantra, and make the Offering to the Cosmic Spirit, and then start the music… The music and the whole party becomes an offering to the Cosmic Spirit… May Lord Shiva, Nataraj, Lord of the Dance come to this place and bless everyone. Then the dancers, the music, the dj, the Spirit, all become One."

"My first Kumbha Mela was the Ardh Kumbh at Prayag in January 1971, so it is not new for me, but it is always very, very, very inspiring and uplifting!!! These are the things that we live for!!! We love our time in India, having holy bath, sitting by the holy fire, frequenting ancient temples and tirthas, and having the darshana of the holy saints and sadhus. These are the things that keep us inspired, uplifted, and help us to complete our mission here on this planet. We love Bharat Mata and Ganga Mai, and we are always sad when we must leave that life, and we are always happy when we return. Jai Ma !!! OM NAMAH SHIVAYA !!!!! HARA HARA MAHADEV !!!!!"
